We’re a free, inclusive, non‑religious homeschool co‑op for school‑age children. Most of our group ranges from Pre‑K through 5th grade. Older siblings are welcome to join, but we do not have a teen group at this time.
We don’t use strict age limits. we simply ask that children attending are homeschooled and within school‑grade range. Our meetups are relaxed, with no set curriculum or pressure. Kids explore, socialize, and enjoy nature at their own pace.
We meet weekly at a local park, where parent volunteers offer simple, optional activities. All supplies are provided by the hosting parent, and families can join us anytime.
1. Check the Monthly Calendar
See where we’re meeting and what we’re doing each week. This keeps everything predictable and easy to follow.
2. RSVP When Required
Some activities or field trips need an RSVP due to limited space, tickets, or supplies. Please RSVP when noted so we can plan properly.
3. Come Join Us!
To keep our group safe, active, and connected, we kindly ask that all new members participate in at least one meetup or event WITHIN 6 months. If a member remains inactive for 6 months or longer (meaning no attendance at meetups or events) their profile will be removed for safety and privacy reasons. You are always welcome to rejoin later if your schedule changes.Â
4. Stay Updated Through Facebook
This website keeps things organized and easy to access, but all-weather updates, last‑minute changes, or cancellations will be posted ONLY on our Facebook main page and chat.Â
5. Check our FAQ and Group Guidelines belowÂ
Do I need any prior homeschooling experience to join?
Nope! Whether you're brand new to homeschooling or have been doing it for years, you're welcome here.
Is there an application process to join?
No application needed—just show up and say hi! We’re happy to have you.
Are there age or grade requirements?
Yes. Muddy Boots is for pre‑K through grade‑level homeschooled children. Siblings are always welcome to join us, but all activities, groups, and planning are based on school grade levels.Â
Do I have to volunteer in order to keep attending?
Nope. Volunteering is always appreciated but never required. Some parents love leading, others prefer to just come and enjoy. All are welcome!
Are there rules for hosting an activity?
No strict rules—just be thoughtful and age-appropriate. Keep it simple, safe, and fun! If you’re unsure, feel free to check in with me or another parent volunteer.
Do I need to bring my own supplies for activities?
No. The parent hosting the activity will provide all materials needed for the group. Families should only bring personal items their child may need — water, snacks, or anything specific to their comfort.Â
We love celebrating—but please contact Kanami first before planning a party during co-op time. We'll gladly help schedule a different day or time so it doesn't overlap with our regular meetups.
To keep The Muddy Boots Co-op fun, safe, and welcoming for all families, we kindly ask that everyone follows these simple guidelines:
1. Be Kind & Inclusive
We welcome all families. Discrimination, bullying, or hate of any kind will not be tolerated.
2. Respect Each Other’s Space & Parenting Styles
We all parent differently—and that’s okay! Please be mindful and respectful of other families' choices and boundaries.
3. Supervise Your Own Children
This is a cooperative group, not a drop-off program. Parents or guardians must stay and supervise their children at all times.
4. Be Gentle with Nature
We encourage exploration and play, but let’s leave no trace and treat nature with care.
5. Clean Up After Yourself
Help keep our parks and spaces clean. Please pick up trash and return supplies at the end of each meetup.
6. Be Flexible & Kind to Volunteers
All activities are parent-led and completely volunteer-based. Come with an open mind and a grateful heart—even if things don’t go perfectly.
7. Sick? Skip This Week
Please stay home if you or your child isn’t feeling well. We’ll be excited to see you the next time!
