The Mixed Nuts

The Mixed Nuts made their debut in March 2009 at a community “Spring Fling” in West Jordan. What began as a small, local performance quickly grew into something much bigger. Word spread fast, and before long the band was entertaining audiences throughout the Salt Lake Valley and along Utah’s Wasatch Front.

Today, The Mixed Nuts are a familiar and welcome presence at senior centers, retirement communities, anniversary celebrations, dances, and weddings. Their specialty is the timeless music of the big band and swing era—songs made famous by legends like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and their contemporaries. For many listeners, these performances rekindle fond memories from the good old days, while introducing younger audiences to music that has truly stood the test of time.

Now one of the busiest bands on the Wasatch Front, The Mixed Nuts continue to earn enthusiastic praise wherever they perform. Founder Bob Nohavec summed it up best when he said, “We play what people want to hear, and we play it well. Most importantly, we have fun—and so do they. That’s the key. We all have a good time.”

And that simple philosophy is exactly what keeps audiences coming back.
