The_Mills

The_Mills is born at the beginning of 2019, latest project of Morris a.k.a. Andrea Sanson (already New Ivory and Muleta) to "re-elaborate my demons as if I were on a hammock in a petrol station". The first album Cerise was recorded in the first months of 2019 by Morris (guitar, voice, drums), and Augusto Dalle Aste (bass, double bass). The LP was released the 17/04/20.

The band began to play live in April 2019 with some new members beside Morris and Augusto. The recording of the new album Useless, out via Dischi Soviet Studio took place at Matt Bordin's amazing Outside Inside Studio. Now the drummer Piero Pederzolli e the guitarist Federico Leder are stable members of the band.

Morris and the band give us a scream of rebirth, an admission of guilt, a new chance. The formula brings a fresh sound that is heavily influenced by the UK music scene. As “a growing awareness of myself, I don’t have to be the same person I was in the past. All the dots are coming together and with The Mills I’m try to express my atonement and mission statement. I closed many doors, and now I see the power of new perspectives”.

The song was recorded during Autumn 2020 at Outside Inside Studio.

In the same studio The_Mills produced their second album, and it will be released in the 2021. Useless is the first single from it.

The song was born on a sunday afternoon: while reading “Four Quartets” by T.S. Eliot I recognized in his words my own sense of inadequacy towards mine and others’ feelings.

Men standing before their own time - inside of it - looking for an allegorical answer to the constant doubts on the usefulness of life.

Is it a matter of awareness, ostensible conviction, or futility?

Two years ago I wrote a song called "Lunar Phase" and it stayed there.

Some months ago, my girlfriend Anna told me: "I would like to shoot a film of pictures of your face, as a representation of the circularity of events, physical mutation but not only, as a moon phase". So, here is Lunar Phase.

The song was recorded during summer 2020 by the band, mixed and mastered by Matt Bordin at the Outside Inside Studio.

In the same studio The_Mills produced their second album in Autumn 2020, and it will be released in the first months of 2021.
