There are various problems that individuals face in developing countries, however, we believe that the most significant problems are contaminated water, lack of food and hygiene. 2 billion people on the planet drink water contaminated by fecal waste and 844 million do not even have basic drinking-water treatments. Contaminated water can cause adverse diseases, for instance, diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, polio, and especially cholera can be caused. These are dangerous diseases that are very contagious and lead to a myriad of deaths on a day-to-day basis. Another problem is the lack of food. Having a poor diet can lead to issues such as a weak immune system, thus, higher risks of chronic diseases, starvation and famine. Lastly, no sanitation and unhygienic practices are also huge problems people are facing in impoverished communities. For example, in Africa, approximately 10,000 people die every year from different sanitation-related diseases. Some of the causes of sanitation-related diseases are contaminated water and human waste.
Our team has come up with many solutions to prevent the problems stated above. The disease, cholera, is caused by consuming vibrio cholera bacteria. We would encourage individuals to maintain sanitation and hygiene while making food and consuming it when it is still fresh. We will also provide the poor with places where they could buy different resources, showing them their local nearby stores and where they can obtain their essential resources at the lowest price. There would also be a personal hygiene tracker, a checklist of what activities you need to do, and notifications to drink water and other things they want to get notified about. We would make an app that would enhance the daily lives of people in impoverish communities. As well as that, we would make a feature on the app that evaluates both the apparent quality of the water and also its invisible attributes (pH level [pH strip], alkalinity, hardness, total dissolved solids [TDS], harmful chemicals, etc.). Some people may need to also purify their water. We have provided information about how one may be able to do so at no extra cost. Some methods may need more resources for the best results, however, there are also very simple procedures for substantial results.
