Director Statement

This film began as a conversation with an artist whose life and work blur the boundaries between performance and identity. Moe Armstrong is someone who inhabits many roles—puppeteer, musician, storyteller, and survivor—and each of these faces reveals something about how art helps us navigate the complexities of life.

Our goal with The Many Faces of Moe Armstrong was to create an intimate portrait that allows Moe's voice to lead the film. Rather than presenting a traditional biography, the film unfolds as a reflection on creativity, vulnerability, and resilience. Through Moe's words and performances, we see how art can become both a refuge and a way of connecting with others.
