Hello and thank you for visiting my page.
My name is Talei and I am a Domestic Energy Assessor based in South London. I am a Mum of 3 beautiful children (2 boys and 1 girl).
I produce Energy Performance Certificates for properties and I serve all London Boroughs.
My trading name is The London DEA simply because I love London (best City in the World hands down) and want to serve it in the best way I can. As well as being an Energy Assessor I am also a qualified Retrofit Assessor and will also soon have completed a Level 3 ABBE Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings.
With 2023 being really tough for the vast majority of us due to the huge rise in energy bills, I am so much more passionate about helping people understand the big part retrofit and behaviour change will play in 1) lowering energy usage and 2) reducing CO2 emissions.
What Should I Expect When I Have An EPC Done?
Once you have decided you would like me to conduct your EPC I will need to find out about the property by asking some questions or send you the form to fill to the best of your knowledge, in your own time and send back to me. Once I have this I will be able to carry out some desk research to get an idea of the property's context.
It also helps to know if there have been any changes to the property since it's last EPC such as an increase in loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, boiler upgrade, solar panels and/or a heat pump installed.
Upon arrival I will need to do the following:
take notes and photos of the external elevation
walk around the property to understand it's geometry
take photos of the inside of the property (windows, wall thicknesses, heating systems etc)
draw up a floor plan (access to every room is needed otherwise the survey will need to be aborted)
make notes on light fittings and how many are Low Energy
make notes on any draught-proofing
have access to the heating system
How Long Does It Take?
This really depends on the size of the property but can take anywhere between 30 and 90minutes.
When Will I Receive My Certificate?
Certificates can take between 3-5 days to produce but usually are completed on the day and you will receive the link to the certificate to your email inbox.

10 years.
