Then ask yourself:

What did you see that someone else might have missed?

Tell a Story With One Picture

Take one photograph that tells a story.

It could be:

A pair of muddy shoes

An empty swing

A birthday cake

A messy art table

Someone holding a flower

Then ask:

“What happened before this picture?”
“What might happen next?”

Find Your Colors 🌈

Choose one color.

Go on a color hunt and photograph five things that are that color.

Then try another color.

Challenge: Can you find a color you don't usually notice?

Light Detective 🔦

Lila loves looking at light!

Find:

A shadow

A bright spot

Something glowing

Something reflected

Something that looks different in sunlight

Take pictures at different times of day.

What changed?

Same Place, Different Time ⏰

Photograph the same place twice.

Try:

Morning and afternoon

Sunny and cloudy

Summer and winter

Before and after something changes

What is different? What stayed the same?

The Photographer's ABCs 🔤

Find something to photograph for each letter of your name.

LILA, for example:

L — leaf
I — ice cream
L — lamp
A — airplane

Memory Maker 📷

Ask a parent, grandparent, or other family member:

“Show me something that has a special memory.”

Photograph it.

Then ask them to tell you the story behind it.

Photograph Like an Artist 🎨

Look at a piece of artwork.

Now go outside and find something that has a similar:

Color

Shape

Pattern

Texture

Feeling

Photograph your discovery.

That's okay!

A photographer doesn't have to get the perfect picture every time. The magic is in learning to look, think, try, and see.

Remember: Photography isn't just about taking pictures.
