I have organized the content by the grades I use them in. However, they can easily be adapted to fit lower and higher grades. PLEASE NOTE: Grades below grade 7 would do well with the Grade 7 content with modifications, but the grade 8 and 9 stuff could be overwhelming for them. The grade 8 & 9 content is easily adaptable for high school.
Additionally, if this is all new to you, consider starting out with the grade 7 content before attempting the grade 8 or 9 content.
New to role playing games? START WITH GRADE 7.
These FREE worksheets are a fun way to introduce students and teachers to the concepts of Dungeons and Dragons. They are differentiated by grade.
My classes took full advantage of, "Places, Cities, and Worlds" to explore SETTING.
New resources are added periodically, so be sure to check in on them once in a while.
I started my grade 7 classes' TTRPG experience with a series of journaling activities from this solo RPG. A mini version is free, and the full version is easily affordable.
I scrapped the "Stall Sheet" altogether and created a single student document for their setting, randomized elements, and journal writing.
I scrapped the "two paths" and the "days passed" and "days total." Instead, I rolled the dice in advance to see which visitors were available, and I allowed the students to choose between the two. I also rolled in advance for the weather and mood.
I scrapped the tea ingredients list and allowed students to "brew" whatever tea they liked from the list. This was particularly beneficial with students struggling creatively and with my English Language Learners.
I rolled in advance ONE question to ask their visitor IN ADDITION to the standard question mentioned in the game.
I modeled for the students by starting the first few lines of their prompts and having them copy me from the board to get them going.
10-minute timer to write every Monday.
20-minute timer for the finale.
This pay-what-you-want (be considerate) adventure has an approachable character creation tool and a SUPER easy world builder (there's even a free prompt and map generator on their site) to survive the world of a mouse.
