Winter Issue 2019
The website was not updated for this paper because of almost no visitors last time.
This paper was the first to have student distribution. Marlee, Joey, and Manav stood in the hallway to hand out papers in addition to putting a few in teacher mailboxes. The new method seemed to work better and was continued and expanded for future papers. The new method was necessary because few teachers handed out newspapers.
The amount of newspapers ordered was decreased again.
Autumn Issue 2018
First issue to have an accompanying online edition (same articles but on the website). The editors also brought some stylistic changes inspired by The New York Times.
This issue was printed incorrectly - the lion came out as a regular picture without the effects. The publisher sent just one stack of papers with the correct effect on the image, but papers had already been distributed.
Spring Issue 2018
Winter Issue 2017
The 2017 Winter Issue was the first issue of The Lion's Roar to be printed in color. All previous issues had been printed in black and white only. However, as readership declined and students threw away papers instead of reading them, the decision was made to print fewer copies (about 650 copies instead of 800, one for each student), which accommodated the higher cost of switching to color printing.
Fall Issue 2017
Edit:
Although, the auditorium renovations were originally intended to cost $2,428,685, the final cost was $3,336,000.
The nurse's suite expansion, which had an original cost of $160,000, ended up costing $120,000.
Because of further delays (not on the part of the school district), the delivery of Chromebooks was rescheduled to December 15th. The school planned to provide students with Chromebooks after they returned from winter break.
