"Unmasking Security" is a 2026 game made in 48 hours for the 2026 Global Game Jam for the prompt "mask". In the game, you must review seven guards, of which one is infected with an evil entity. You must taze the infected guard to eject the entity before your power goes out.
This game can be found on Globalgamejam.org under the same name.
There are six symptom scenarios in the game, which are randomly selected each time.
"Staring". Infected guards might stare at the player no matter what.
"Red Eyes". Infected guards may appear to have glowing red eyes when viewed through the camera's filter mask.
"Unflinching". Infected guards may not flinch or react to being flashed by your light, and may have red eyes in response to the light.
"Babbling". Infected guards may not be agitated by the light, and may contradict their own statements or not make sense.
"Silence". Infected guards sometimes lose the ability to speak altogether.
"Imposter". Infected guards will sometimes get their ID number wrong.
The player has a few tools in their robot.
Tazer: This tool only has three shots, so use them wisely. It will anger the guard and is very taxing on your power supply, but it will force the evil entity to eject.
ID verification: Make the guard recite their ID number.
Moving: You can move between the seven guards on command.
Flashlight: You can shine a light in the guards' faces, which will make them flinch and want to look away and squint.
Camera mask: applies a camera filter on your screen, sometimes revealing details that would otherwise be impossible to detect.
Each of the seven guards will have a randomized name, personality, ID number, badge, and visor color to make it easier for you to tell them apart.
If the power goes out, it's game over. The entity becomes extremely aggresive in the dark, so find it before that happens, or you'll get a personal encounter in your office.
