The Legacy Project CCLF was granted from the County Clothesline Foundation to the Art Society of Strathcona County to manage and provide artistic opportunities to the youth (ages 15-29) of Strathcona County, Alberta. Our purpose is to engage emerging artists and have them contribute to the county's vibrant art community.
Many careers incorporating art and creativity span various industries including design, entertainment, fine arts and more, providing ample opportunities for artist individuals to pursue fulfilling and creative paths. Legacy Projects will provide a variety of educational and practical experiences to increase, encourage and expand interested students artistic confidence, skills and motivation.
Scholarships available to students enrolled in post secondary educational program with a focus on art and creativity. Selections and decisions made by Legacy Project committee.
Criteria
One scholarship per student
Applicants can not be family or Board members of the County Clothesline
Proof of acceptance or attendance in an accredited educational institution
Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted: fill in N/A if not applicable to you.
There are two $1000 scholarships available.
Applications begin June 10, 2025.
Application deadline is August 10, 2025.
Scholarship awards will be distributed by September 10, 2025.
Qualifications:
Residency:
Applicant must be a resident of Strathcona County, Alberta OR have strong personal ties to Strathcona County, Alberta.
Age Requirement:
Applicant must be between the ages of 15 and 29 at the time of application.
Artistic Focus:
Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest or involvement in artistic fields, including but not limited to fine arts, design, entertainment, multimedia, or other creative disciplines.
Emerging Artist Status:
Preference will be given to emerging artists who are in the early stages of their artistic careers or education.
Commitment to Growth:
Applicants should show a clear desire to increase their artistic skills, confidence, and motivation through educational and practical experiences.
Contribution to Community:
Candidates must express a willingness to engage with and contribute to the vibrant art community within Strathcona County.
Educational Pursuit:
Applicants must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a Secondary (Post- High School) educational program related to art, design, or creative industries. Proof of enrollment must be provided.
