Expectations
Textbooks should be left at home.
Laptops and cell phones may be used for learning purposes (i.e. following along the PPT lesson your phone)
In a PPT lesson, write down what you HEAR, not what you see because the slides can be downloaded
Pre-printing the PPT slides can be helpful for note-taking during a lesson
Science Classroom Rules
No food (that includes chewing gum)
No drinks (that includes water bottles)
You may drink water in the hallway
No coats (put it in your locker)
Closed toe shoes for all chemical labs
Always goggles, never eye glasses for chemical labs
Absences
Planned absence
example: religious holiday, orthodontist appointment, field trips, sports game
make arrangements a week in advance for missing tests
work is still due on the given date and can be submitted via email or through another student
Unforeseen absences
example: illness, emergencies, death in the family, flight delay
call the school
if possible contact Ms. Law either through Remind or email
bring note on the first day back
missed tests are written on the first day back
depending on the situation, extensions on work due may or may not be given
