Children's Protection and Women Empowerment Programme

Our team has set up the programme in Province 2 in Eastern Uganda to assist street children and girls who have been victims of domestic violence, rape, trafficking.

We focus on Province 2, the smallest but most populous province in Uganda, with more than 10,000 cases a year of violence against girls and women, the highest number of missing children in Uganda, approximately 400 children living on the streets, and 50% of children out of school.

The programme started in February 2021. The Uganda Children's Protection Centre (two separate shelters for boys and girls) is there to provide the children with shelter, education, training, care, counselling, access to legal support when needed and linking with the families where appropriate.
