Here are the Rules for the K-Pop Contest :

*Please note Before registering you need to have your video ready - so register once you have completed your recording*

• A Total of 15 performances from each category will be selected for the Finals

• The Submission process will start from the 1st of December and end by the 22nd of December 2020

• The Winners will be announced by 26th of December

• All selected finalists will be featured on the YouTube Premier event [date to be announced shortly ]

Who Can participate?

• Anyone who is part of the K-Wave India community and should also be part of any one of the many K-Wave India WhatsApp groups.

• If you are not part of the K-wave India community yet? you are more than welcome to join and participate if you are from or around Chennai.

How to Participate:

• Fill out the Registration form with all the details including your name, contact info and the link to you YouTube video on the given form.

• Performance Video should be uploaded on YouTube with the Title “The K-Wave India December festival, K-pop Contest 2020 “along with your name.

• Please Make sure that the YouTube video is set to – UNLISTED and not shared / published until the contest is over .

Vocal Category : [including Rap]

1. 1. Any K-pop song with a duration of less than 5 minutes

1. 2. Multiple songs will be allowed [example more than 1 song can be edited and performed within 5 minutes ]

1. 3. Overlay of background instrumental track is allowed but the main vocal track should be audible and clear

1. 4. Professional Microphones wont be allowed but simple headset microphones or Mobile phones microphone are allowed for recording [ This is just to maintain fairness between participants]

1. 5. Full face will have to be present in the video as it shows that you are the one performing [no mask or / black screen]

1. 6. Surprise elements is allowed [incase you would like to add something during your performances]

1. 7. 15 finalists will be selected for the final performances that will premier on Youtube [date coming soon ]

1. 8. Only Solo performances are allowed – we want everyone to stay safe during the pandemic

The judging criteria for vocal are as follows :

• Vocal Power [ 50 %]

• Expression, Pronunciation [20 %]

• Stage manner [20 %]

• Audience Vote [10 %]

Dance Category :

1. Any Kpop song Under 5 minutes

2. The Dance Performance should contain a mix of a minimum of 2 songs [ No limit to the maximum number of songs you can have in a single track as long as it's within 5 minutes of duration ]

3. You are allowed to add various effects, small remix inserts and transitions to your performance audio track as long as the performance video is not edited [the audio track is only allowed for editing ]

4. The video should be one take with no cuts in-between , video editing is allowed only for title or overlay of music , no cuts in-between performances and should be a single take video.

6. Special awards will also be given to the Best Audio track editing and Best outfit

7. Surprise elements is allowed during a remixed track but with the Original Choreography

8. Only Solo performances are allowed – we want everyone to stay safe during the pandemic

The judging criteria for Dance are as follows :

• Choreography [ 30 %]

• Technic [30 % ]

• Expression and Stage charisma [30 %]

• Audience Vote [10 %]
