PEOPLE

Lompong (Lom) comes from Hatyai, Songkhla, Thailand. He received a PhD in Botany, Botanical institute, Biocenter, University of Cologne, Germany in 2017. He has worked as lecture and researcher at Division of Biological Science, Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University since the Christmas of 2017. He is interested in rice-mycorrhiza symbiosis, nutrient deficiency in rice and rice biotechnology. He enjoys witnessing how students and associates take responsibility, develop their project(s), skills, and personality, and further their career. His teaching portfolio includes basic courses in plant physiology, plant tissue and organ culture and plant ecology and advanced courses in  plant-water relations and mineral nutrition. From 2022, He is a leader of plant cell and physiology for sustainable agriculture research unit, Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University.

Tharnthip (Namfon) comes from Songkhla, Thailand. She started in November 2023 a scholarship recipient from Science Achievement Scholarship of Thailand (SAST). She received a Master’s degree in Biology from Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University in 2023. She is currently working on dynamic of fungal and bacterial microbiomes in mycoheterotrophic plants in a lowland tropical rain forest of Southern Thailand.

Linaya (Linna) comes from Pattani, Thailand. She started in April 2021 as a scholarship recipient for research assistance from Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University. She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University in 2022. She is currently working on effect of phosphorus deficiency on secondary metabolites in seedlings of aromatic and black rice cultivars.

Thasneem (Neem) comes from Yala, Thailand. She started in May 2022 as a scholarship recipient from Development and Promotion of Science and Technology Talents Project (DPST). She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University in 2022. She is currently working on effect of soil properties on the interaction between Acaulospora morrowie and landrace upland indica rice in Sothern Thailand.

Solihah (Sol) comes from Narathiwas, Thailand. She started in May 2022 as a scholarship recipient from Development and Promotion of Science and Technology Talents Project (DPST). She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University in 2022. She is working on anther culture of Oryza sativa L. ssp. indica cv. Chaew Khing and cv. KDML105.

Fatonee (Plai) comes from Yala, Thailand. She started in May 2022 as a scholarship recipient for research assistance from Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University. She is currently working on application of arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculation for improvement of tomato growth and yield in organic farming.
