The Jordon Method
The Jordon Method is a transformative approach to math education that goes beyond traditional teaching techniques. It is built on the belief that true mastery comes from understanding, not memorization. By treating math as a language with its own vocabulary and set of rules, students gain a profound insight into how each concept interconnects, empowering them to see the bigger picture. This method cultivates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to rely on their comprehension and reasoning rather than rote steps. With an emphasis on self-reliance and confidence, the Jordon Method ensures that students are not only equipped to navigate any challenge but also develop a lasting, intuitive mastery of math that extends far beyond the classroom.
Empowerment Through Self-Reliance
This empowers students to rely on their understanding rather than rote calculation, fostering confidence and independence. They learn to problem-solve and reason through challenges instead of just memorizing formulas.
Math as a Language
This incorporate an English-language approach to math, teaching students the specific vocabulary and terminology that many might overlook, helping them understand the full scope of what they’re learning.
Teaching the Rules, Not Just Steps
This teaches students the rules of math, which are reliable and enduring. This way, even if they forget a specific step, they can still work through problems confidently by applying the underlying principles.

About
Welcome to The Jordon Method: Mastering Math, where we believe that true mastery of math comes from understanding the concepts, not just memorizing steps. Founded by Jaeda McFarlane, a passionate Computer Science student at Spelman College, this tutoring service is driven by a commitment to empowering students through a deeper connection to math. Based out of New York, we embrace cultural diversity and create a welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds.
At The Jordon Method, math is taught as a language—a system with its own rules and vocabulary. The focus is on helping students understand how math works, not just how to follow steps. This method empowers students to think critically and problem-solve with confidence. Instead of simply memorizing formulas, they are taught to understand the 'why' behind the math, ensuring that the principles they learn are reliable and enduring.
By focusing on building strong foundational skills and developing self-reliance, The Jordon Method provides students with the tools to approach math challenges with clarity and independence. This approach builds not only math proficiency but also the confidence needed to succeed academically.
At The Jordon Method, we are committed to creating a culturally inclusive tutoring experience that makes learning math enjoyable and effective. Whether you're a beginner or preparing for advanced topics, we are here to help you unlock your full potential.
Meet Jaeda!
Hey there! I'm a computer science student at Spelman College, the #1 HBCU, and I’m passionate about helping students build a strong foundation in math. With over four years of experience in tutoring, I specialize in preparing students for future math courses by breaking down complex concepts into manageable, understandable pieces.
Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, I attended St. Hugh’s High School and then completed my high school education at Sewanhaka High School. I’ve worked with students ranging from 4th grade all the way to the collegiate level, and I currently serve as the youth minister at my church. This experience has helped me develop patience, communication skills, and the ability to connect with students of all ages.
I speak both English and Jamaican Patois, so I can offer a fun and culturally diverse perspective to our lessons! I’ve taken every math course up through Calculus, so you can trust that I know my stuff.
When I’m not diving deep into code or equations, you’ll probably find me in the kitchen—cooking and baking is one of my favorite pastimes.
If you’re looking for a dedicated tutor who can make learning math both enjoyable and effective, I’d love to work with you!
