'The Last Duel' will have some filming scenes at Bective Bridge Monday March 23rd to 30th with the L4010 road closure around the location.

Tuesday's school run traffic congestion was the worst ever experienced in Johnstown.
Black ice on estate roads had everyone driving cautiously but the amount of traffic was considerably higher than normal and we don't know why that was.
The Johnstown roundabout frequently came to complete standstill causing tailbacks on Bothar Sion, North Metges Road again backed up onto the Kentstown Road and South to the Johnstown People's Park.
The School Campus approach is always congested but the impact this morning caused queues within all the estates leading off these main roads.
By 9:30am the roads returned to normal with the exception of queues still leaving the Campus approach road.
Tomorrow might be a walking day for many looking to avoid the chaos which ironically which will cause even more congestion at the roundabout pedestrian crossings.

Work has been underway within the site for a number of months to install basic infrastructure and services . The pavement has now been extended but we're not sure what the spray marking mean on the paths opposite.

It's taken a number of years but work is underway to create a new pedestrian crossing across Metges Road opposite Cois Glaisin Estate.
We'll follow up with news of what they create and we believe that two crossing points proposed but the second depends on the woodland development.

Morning chaos had the roads congested from the Navan New Bridge, up Kentstown Road and along Metges Rd up to the School Campus.
Congestion was just as bad for those attempting to leave Johnstown to make the school run.
On a positive not the kids delighted in seeing the snow.

The first brief snow flurry came at lunchtime today but nothing significant compared to our memories of the big snow a few years back.
Locally we can expect cold, very windy and wintry weather conditions with icy mornings and bizarrely sunshine in between the hail, sleet and snow showers !!!

These are are our Meath West elected representatives.

Of the 67,982 electorate 41,504 made valid votes (61.5%)
10,377 votes was the threshold for election.
Johnny Guirke (SF) was elected on the first count with 12,652 votes.
Peadar Toibin (Aontú ) elected after 6th and final count with 11,410 votes.
Damien English (FG) retains his seat and deemed elected by having the next closest count of 9558 votes.
Shane Cassell (FF) had 8,224 and loses his seat.

The search for Registered Charities has received over 100 entries in its first week of nominations.
Nominations close Feb 26th with ALL eligible groups going forward to a Public Vote commencing March 1st. This will identify 3 Groups who will each benefit from €5,000 donation from Councillor Alan Lawes Discretionary Fund.

Johnstown Community should be proud to have NO POSTERS to recycle and that ALL (but one) CANDIDATE respected the Johnstown Tidy Towns request for a Plastic Election Poster Free Zone.
Panda state in their article "After last year’s European and local elections, Panda recycled 42 tonnes of election posters, equal to 168,000 individual posters."
We would like to see Plastic Election Posters banned and for Advertising Agencies to find a less harmful method of communicating.
