Where do they go?
December 2019
Pre-Loved Clothes
Citizens of County Meath were asked to regularly donate clothing and supplies to help those less fortunate and especially the homeless.
The recent December response has been outstanding but it needs to be continuous to supply those in constant need.
In light of bogus, unregistered collectors taking advantage of charity donations
'Where do our genuine clothes donations actually go?'
is a fair question which we followed up on.
In our video we do not interview or name the volunteers who give their time and energy anonymously and to whom we're very grateful for the support they give to those in need.
We do not interview or identifying any of the homeless people we encountered who deserve dignity and, as we discovered, some are simply everyday people just like us but who have fallen on desperate times.
Thank you to the ICHH for allowing us to participate and to Cllr Alan Lawes for the help in making the video clip.
More detailed information about the ICHH and the services which they provide.
You can Help
If you have items to donate such as clothing, toiletries or food then gather them up ready for the New Year collections.
If you think the local charity shops will benefit local people there's several in town who would welcome your donations (and purchases).
Items may also find their way to other local charities such as Meath Women's Refuge and directly to local people in sheltered accommodation who genuinely need support in times of crisis.
