Who would have thought that we would see 2 days of sporting activities take place within Johnstown?
We all know that Johnstown suffers from a lack of sporting locations and we all know they'll not magically appear anytime soon. Despite this on Saturday 28th October we hosted our first Pilot Multi Sport Event in Johnstown.
Hosted by Meath Local Sports Partnership and aimed at engaging local residents within our own area we had more than 20 local children take take part in 3 introductory activities.
30 minute sessions of Rugby, Athletics and Duathlon soon had the children's hearts pumping and lots of happy faces left the mornings activities.
We invite you to participate in the next 2 sessions which will have different activities each occasion: Saturday Nov 11th & 18th

The Open Green space of Bailis Downs was kindly loaned by it's Residents for the purpose of seeing if we can make occasional use of these types of locations going forward into 2018.
We've identified other locations that could be used but the first step is understanding what activities will engage residents?
Bailis Downs Green is only one of many potential areas for activities.
Our local area is filled with open green spaces that have potential uses.
There are many clubs around Navan that will happily come to Johnstown BUT Resident Feedback and Participation is vital to it's ongoing success. The underlining question is:
You might have seen the students of Colaiste na Mi take to the roads recently but where were they heading and why?
