Within Johnstown we have approx 1/3rd of the Navan population and naturally a large number of our residents are preschool age.
Teresa runs Early Blooms which is a designated Preschool run from her own home and before we asked her to tell us more we looked through the Facebook reviews:
"Teresa is amazing she helped develop my shy little girl in to a happy and confident girl more than ready for school. My youngest is with her now and I just can't speak highly enough of her approach to children and their development. Amazing experience for any child."
Carmel
"Teresa is THE only person I want my child to be with for her preschool experience. She nurtures unique individual strengths and respects every child like her own. She loves her work and children."
Eithne
"A home from home for your precious little ones. A safe, loving environment where children will flourish. Teresa is exceptional with children."

I have studied 5 yrs in total to gain my qualifications."
"Early Blooms prides itself in being a home from home service, which fosters and encourages curious young minds. I will endeavour to ensure that all the children will experience a variety of activities and will be encouraged to learn through a play based curriculum, at their own pace."
"We offer your child a unique combination of both informal and formal learning, respecting several pedagogy philosophies within a homely environment."
"In my work, I place a big emphasis on using natural materials as much as possible Activities are presented as stimulating and challenging intellectual tasks."
t Early Blooms they endeavour to make your child's preschool experience a happy and fulfilling time preparing them in every way for their years ahead in school.
1) Waldorf Steiner
"This ethos is based on the provision of an unhurried and creative learning environment where children can find the joy in learning and experience the richness of childhood. Founded on Steiner's principles that take account of the whole child, this technique gives equal attention to the Physical, Emotional,
Intellectual, Language, Social, and Spiritual needs of each child."
2) Reggio Emilia
"The Reggio approach to education is innovative and inspiring, valuing the child as strong, capable and resilient, rich with wonder and knowledge.
Each child brings with them a deep curiosity and potential. This innate curiosity and potential drives their interests to understand their world and their place within it."
"We start by welcoming the children, circle time, which includes songs and stories, music and movement.
We then alternate between child-led and guided activity which have been linked to the monthly Themes.
A day at Early Blooms includes a period of free play (indoors or outdoors) and a particular activity, for example creative activities, to early literacy and language skills. "
"Our emergent curriculum is centered on encouraging individuality and allowing the freedom which is integral to the growth of each child's own unique talents . I will ensure the following areas are facilitated.
I also hope to soon implement yoga into our daily routine at Early Blooms."
Their recent garden work now includes a raised vegetable bed which appears to be a huge success
"The garden is a very 'hands on' experience for children and we've been talking, planting and watering the plants. The children will monitor the plants growing and then hopefully tasting them too"

A weekly chat, coffee and biscuit with other parents with very young children can make such a difference. To check in, compare notes or relax for a moment whilst your child engages in play can help you catch your breath.
