BROOKLYN
Brooklyn Barber is a professional dancer, choreographer, educator, and creator whose career over the past 8 years spans a wide range of credits. While tap dancing is her specialty, she is trained in multiple dance styles and has had the privilege of working as a dancer in many cultural hubs around the world.
Career highlights include Emerald Storm in London's West End, Spirit of the Dance UK and China Tours, performing as a dancer on board MSC Virtuosa and MSC Grandiosa cruise ships, and most recently, embarking upon a world cruise with MSC Magnifica.
In addition to her exciting career as a dancer, Brooklyn is also an experienced tap dance teacher, with a curriculum that includes credits at numerous London institutions such as King’s College London, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, LMA, Pineapple Dance Studios, and Danceworks.
Brooklyn takes pride in having studied at The University of Birmingham, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and Escola Luthier de Dansa. During her years of study, she thrived both academically and as a performer, gaining a 1:1 Bachelor of the Arts (Hons) in Drama & Theatre Arts, a Distinction in her Master of the Arts in Musical Theatre, and an Advanced Tap Dance Diploma, respectively.
MARIE
Marie is a professional tap dancer whose career began as a child in San Francisco, where she initially trained in both ballet and tap. At 8 years old, she returned to her home country of France, where she studied piano, choir, and music theory at the CRC Paris Centre Conservatory.
Later, under the mentorship of Victor Cuno (SwingTap, Paris), Marie’s dedication to tap dance propelled her career forward. She has performed across France in iconic venues like the Grand Palais, appeared in music videos for the esteemed Romain Rachline, and danced with The Satin Dollz.
In 2019, Marie moved to Barcelona to pursue the Advanced Tap Dance Course at Escola Luthier de Dansa. It was there she began developing her creative side: co-founding The Smiling Sisters, dancing at the opening ceremony of the Queen's Gala at the Tenerife Carnival, and proudly launching The Hot Shoe Sugars.
In 2024, Marie returned to France to join Martin's Tap Dance Company and perform on national stages with their original productions.
Alongside her career as a dancer, Marie holds a Master’s in Film from Université La Sorbonne - Paris 1. She believes her studies in film have passionately enriched her artistic approach as a professional dancer.
DOMINIQUE
Dominique is an accomplished international tap dancer, teacher, choreographer, and two-time world tap dance champion. She began her dance career at the Bird College Junior School at 15 years old and in 2011 earned her ISTD DDE teaching certification in ballet, tap, and modern dance from Deborah Capon College.
In 2019, Dominique further honed her tap skills in the prestigious professional tap program at the Escola Luthier de Dansa. Since then, she has performed in various theaters, television shows, and events across Barcelona and Europe. Notable credits include dancing with Wood Beats, Barcelona Rhythm Tap, Sabor Life is Rhythm, La Huella Musical, Martin's Tap Dance Company, and her own show entitled David & Dominique.
Dominique shares her expertise at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona as a faculty member and tap dance teacher. She has also taught at prestigious festivals and studios around the world, including Stockholm Tap Festival, The Luthier Tap Dance Festival, TIP TAP Warsaw, Tap Residency Madrid, Morea Performing Arts, and TDFUK.
Recently, she has taken over the organisation of the renowned Barcelona Tap Experience and is thrilled to offer tap dancers the opportunity to teach, create, perform, and improvise.
ANNIE
Annie Cortés is a pedagogue, choreographer, and dancer with a deep passion for dance in all its forms. With a strong foundation in tap and a love for improvisation, she has developed a unique artistic voice that blends movement, rhythm, and live performance.
She began her training at age two at AMD Estudio de Danza in Monterrey, Mexico, founded by her mother. In 2020, she received a full scholarship to train at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School in New York.
In 2023, Annie moved to Barcelona to continue her development at the renowned Institut del Teatre, specializing in Dance Pedagogy, and joined the Advanced Professional Tap Program at Escola Luthier de Dansa.
Annie has performed and competed internationally, earning top honors including highest solo score at CIAD Impulso Danza (2019), runner-up at Starpower (2019), and World Tap Dance Champion at All Dance International (2020). She has collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Sarah Reich’s Tap Music Project and was selected for Reverb Tap Company (Los Angeles, 2022).
She also directs her own project, This is Love, a Lovely Tap Celebration, creating original works with live musicians. Annie continues to merge creativity, improvisation, pedagogy, and performance while mentoring the next generation of dancers.
