This symposium will showcase innovative work being undertaken in the critical medical humanities at the ANU and beyond. The event will feature a keynote address from Associate Professor Elizabeth Stephens (University of Queensland), whose work on the history of science, technology and medicine, as well as on collaboration between the arts and sciences has been ground-breaking in and beyond Australia. The program includes an interdisciplinary roundtable featuring scholars from medicine, anthropology, literature, screen studies and health care. We aim to showcase the wide-ranging projects ANU is currently exploring and open up new avenues for conversation and collaboration across campus, around Australia, and internationally.
