A monthly space for rest, joy, and connection
First Monday Laughter Yoga and Sound Bath is a monthly ninety minute gathering designed to help people pause, breathe, and reset together. The experience combines gentle laughter based practices, simple breathwork, and a deeply calming sound bath to support stress relief and emotional wellbeing.
This is not traditional yoga. There are no poses, no flexibility requirements, and no prior experience needed. If you can breathe, you can participate fully. The focus is on ease, playfulness, and deep rest rather than performance or achievement.
Each gathering is intentionally small and welcoming, creating space for genuine connection and a shared sense of calm.
We live in a culture that often rewards exhaustion and constant productivity. Many people are carrying stress in their bodies without ever having a chance to release it. This series exists as a gentle counterbalance to that pressure.
Laughter Yoga helps release tension, shift mood, and reconnect us with joy in a simple, accessible way. The sound bath that follows invites the nervous system into deep relaxation, helping the body and mind settle more fully.
Together, these practices offer something many people are missing: a regular, reliable space to rest, reconnect, and remember what it feels like to be at ease in their own bodies.
First Monday Laughter Yoga and Sound Bath is held on the first Monday of each month and aligns with the monthly Soul Matters theme. Each gathering reflects that theme in a gentle, embodied way, offering a practice that supports both personal wellbeing and spiritual reflection.
Rather than adding one more thing to do, this series creates a monthly pause. A place to return to yourself and to community.
This series is offered in partnership with the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County. UUCCHC has a long history of innovative, inclusive approaches to living a life grounded in compassion, connection, and care for the whole person.
Hosting this gathering at UUCCHC reflects a shared commitment to wellbeing, accessibility, and community care. The church provides a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds are invited to explore practices that support balance, resilience, and joy.
You do not need to be a member of the church to attend. Everyone is welcome.
Participants can expect a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, gentle guidance, and plenty of options to make the experience comfortable. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat if you have one. Loaners are available. Blankets, pillows, and other comfort items are encouraged for the relaxation portion.
The event is free to attend and includes ample parking. To preserve the feeling of ease and connection, participation is capped at twenty people. Advance sign up is encouraged.
If you are seeking a more balanced way to begin your week, a space where joy and rest are taken seriously, and a community that values care over pressure, this gathering is for you. We would be glad to share this monthly practice with you.
