Our history

The creators, Carolyn Dabney-Tatko, Alexandra Nobert, and Madeline Nobert,  were always interested in puzzles, games, escape rooms, and especially murder!  They had held several small murder mystery parties at their homes using purchased kits or downloaded games.

In October of 2024, Carolyn entered a pumpkin carving contest at The Highlands Mansion in her hometown, knowing that the grand prize was a 3 hour rental at the facility.  Her explicit goal was to win this so she could throw "the best Murder Mystery Party Ever" for all her friends.  

She did not win, but the event coordinator there, Dana Dorsey,  worked with her to hold the event anyway, just on a much larger scale.  Carolyn's neices, Alexandra and Madeline Nobert, proposed writing the play for this event.  And so, on November 8, 2025, after 6 months of writing, editing, and organizing, Murder at the Mansion,  our Edgar Allan Poe Mystery Party, was born.
