Network Good Practice commitments

The Grimm network is committed to furthering Uwe's aim of increasing inclusivity and diversity within the mathematics community.

We follow the LMS Good Practice Guidance (https://www.lms.ac.uk/events/guidance) to create inclusive, accessible, and respectful events.

We ensure that as much as possible, each meeting has speakers drawn from a broad range of backgrounds, establishing both gender and ethnic diversity. Each meeting will have at least one talk by an upcoming early career researcher. Caring costs are available to ensure those with caring needs are able to attend meetings.

Speakers and attendees will be able to request accomodations to meet accessibility needs for meetings, as well as network communications. All meetings have at most two hours of contiguous talks interspersed with coffee/lunch breaks, with short breaks between every talk for comfort.

We expect all network members to follow the LMS Code of Conduct (https://www.lms.ac.uk/policy/advice-on-creating-a-positive-environment-at-events), which will be shared in all final meeting announcements. Meeting organisers and principal network organisers are available as contact points for concerns.

We strongly recommend that attendees prioritise rail travel and public transport as their primary mode of transport for attending meetings in the network, including any speakers from mainland European. Where appropriate, we will encourage sustainable catering.
