Coming up in last place is Cobra Kai season 3. Ending Season 2 off with such a shock is hard to come back from, and Cobra Kai did the best they could. The problem with this season is it strays from the main characters. Yes, the season finale is one of the most memorable ones with Hawk turning good again, but key characters such as Miguel and Robby simply aren't present. Miguel barely fights as he recovers from his surgery, and Robby is on the run. Hawk is pure evil, and the three main teen fighters are gone like that.Â
Season 1 is what started off the show. It started off just like Daniel LaRusso did in the original Karate Kid movie, but this time with Johnny Lawrence as the sensei, showing a new side of him. This season is great but lacks the stakes the other seasons carry. The season finale is entertaining, but anyone watching knew Miguel was going to win (as he did), but at this point, Miguel wasn't likable. Robby was and lost the tournament, leaving the outcome not great.
Season 5 gives fans what they want: all of the teen fighters, all on one side. Miguel, Robby, and Hawk, finally fight for Johnny and Daniel. The finale is one of the most satisfying as Terry Silver is exposed and Cobra Kai is taken down. With the Sekai Taikai announced, hype for Season 6 is at an all-time high. The reason Season 5 isn't higher is due to the beginning of the season. It got off to a rocky start with Miguel in Mexico and Johnny and Daniel looking for him. Great for bonding, but the first episodes end up dull. Along with that, Kenny is as annoying as ever. Nothing more to be said.
Season 4 is amazing. Hawk is finally on the good side, and he and Demetri make for a great duo. With Johnny and Daniel teaming up to teach the teens as the tournament looms, stakes are very high. Dojos are on the line. The finale is great as the All Valley Tournament goes on and the teens get a taste of both karate styles (Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang). The one aspect that keeps this season from not being number 1 is Kenny; his entire story arc is boring and weird, not going anywhere except with him being evil. Overall a great season.
Season 2 of Cobra Kai is hands down the greatest season. Miyagi-Do has business, and the fights in this season are amazing. Up until the school fight, the Cobra Kai/Miyagi-Do rivalry was just a rivalry, nothing more. Demetri and Hawk could still banter and talk a bit, as shown at the party in episode 9. After the school fight, it's not a rivalry anymore. The two dojos are at war after Miguel. Not to mention the school fight is one of the single greatest fights in the entire show, where everyone got their time to shine. Season 2 is very similar to season 4, except with Robby on the good side and Hawk on the bad. An amazing season that ends in an even more amazing finale. So good!
