With glad anticipation we prepare to mark the 509th year since the great Reformation, with merry music, a hearty feast of roasted meats, warm cider by the fire, and much rejoicing, huzzah!
As at Christmastide we remember our Lord’s birth, and at Easter His glorious resurrection, so on Reformation Day we give thanks for the blessed truth recovered, that we are justified by faith alone. Beyond the festivities, it is a fitting occasion to proclaim this good news to neighbors, kin, and all who would hear.
