#38. Don't you think I look beautiful? - (BFDI 1a)
Okay the last article has been pretty long so I will promise to keep this one short.
This was such a classic moment from the show, and it is also the very first funny moment the show ever had. I'mt talking about the one and only scene. When Flower asks Ice Cube if she is beautiful.
"Umm"
Wait, hold on, we are getting ahead of ourselves right now. I still have to give some background on what happened. So right away, the very first scene of BFDI features Match and Pencil gossiping about Flower. Flower saw a bug and freaked out, and now the girls are laughing about it.
Flower sees a bug
Flower solves the problem
"Its only when a mosquito lands on your face that you learn to solve problems without violence"
And this brings them to recalling the time Flower asked Ice Cube if she was beautiful.
"Uh oh"
We all know what is going to happen next, Ice Cube is going to f*ck up the response just like she always does.
Sucks at everything
Things go exactly as expected.
"Ice Cube, don't you think I look beautiful?"
"Uhh no?"
Okay, that scene is just so messed up for so many different reasons. Firstly you have Flower being Flower and asking Ice Cube if she is beautiful. Which if you haven't met Flower, its the exact type of thing she would do.
Don't let the coy face fool you
And then you have Ice Cube, who responds in the dumbest way possible. Which if you also don't have any idea who she is, its THE EXACT THING SHE WOULD DO.
I mean, did you hear what she said? I am going to give you some dating advice here. When someone asks you if they are beautiful you respond in one of three ways
1. Yes
2. YES
3. YES
There is no other way you can approach this. You don't ever tell someone that they aren't beautiful. On that topic, here are some other things I learned over the yeras you should never say to a woman.
"Are you pregnant?"
"Did you used to be a man?"
"Are they fake?"
"You look tired"
"In ten years... if none of us are married..."
Although to be fair, Flower's wording could have been confusing her. She could have thought that Flower was using a double-wrong. But still, she should have gone with her gut and said "yes" Instead she gets a front row seat with Flower's foot.
"Ice Cube's don't have guts"
Bye, Ice Cube. You brought this on yourself
