#31. Leafy Screws her Team (And Herself) - (BFDI 2, 4 &16)
Answer a little question for me.
What happens when you cross generosity, stupidity, and just a smidge of humiliation? That's right! You get Leafy. Here she is doing her usual stuff.

Yeah! Leafy screws over her team so many times its kind of unbelievable. She does it all the time. And it never registers to her that a lot of her actions will probably come back to bite her.
"Well maybe it was strategic"
Shut up, Leafy. This is BFDI... helping make your team lose is never a good strategy.
"Well I got to the final two! Did YOU get to the final two?"
Moving on.
The first example of this is right in episode 2. Leafy and Ice Cube are descending the elevator. Leafy thinks that this is the perfect time to teach Ice Cube some extremley valuable facts about gravity. Despite the prospect of learning, Ice Cube being the helpless worm she is just goes with it.
Thinks water is too spicy
So as usual, Ice Cube is roped into one of Leafy's plans. And of course, Leafy is going to screw this up for her team.
"Look"
"The bowling ball and you are falling at the same rate"
*Crash*
Good job, Leafy. That was a really smart thing you did back there. Hey, are you allowed to use the stove?
"At my level of niceness, you can use anything!"
Shut up, Leafy... I never should have asked.
Now Leafy's little gravity lesson lead to a corpse on the floor. Now she basically disqualified Ice Cube from the next two challenges. She literally handicapped her own team for two whole episodes.
But her next move is probably even worse. It's the baking challenge. (hurray) And even to the dismay of Snowball. The challenge should go well.
Burns down house when preparing toast
The Cherries and Grapes are at even team numbers thanks to Leafy's screw-up. But no need to worry. Everyone on the Cherries seem to be fooling off.
The counting chronicles continue
Eraser and Pen try to catch a wild coin
Woody fails on an Ice Cube level
And the Grapes should be in a obvious place to win. If half the Cherries aren't even going to particiapte, then there really isn't anything that stands in the way of the Grapes.
They still lose
How did you mess this up? You had so much chance to win and your team now scored less than the other!
I guess I shouldn't blame the team, especially when it was one player who made all the difference.

So what did Leafy do this time? Did she spit in the cakes? Did she break all the contestants arms?
Nope, she did something much more harmful.
If anyone wants a cake, I can lend some
Wait what? You are going to give a cake to nearly half of all the Squishy Cherries?
Why does she want to sabotage her own team?
"There's a price to pay!"
"Oops, Here's the jar I was looking for"
So you're going to do this for a quick buck? Are you seriously not undertanding that you could be voted out because of this? It would have been smarter to kill them, Leafy. Now you are going to give a cake to Eraser and Pen?
And Woody
And the alliance
That is some real clever work. When the scores come in. How many points did Leafy's strawberry cake make for each team?
The Cherries get 92 points.
The Grapes get 19...
Had Leafy not done anything, her team would have beaten the Cherries quite handidly. Instead she is now down by 13 points.
So good job, Leafy. This isn't even going to be the dumbest thing you do, isn't it?
"Maybe you're just confusing niceness with stupidity"
I never said you were nice OR stupid... I replaced "or" with "and"...
And the third and final stupid thing she does is to herself... directly. Like she will face the consequences of her actions immediatley.
It comes in episode 16, Leafy now gets to play the add-subtract game. And then Leafy does a thing.
"You can subtract 90 points"
"I have an idea"
"I am so nice, that I want equality"
"Look at me and my equality, aren't I nice?"
Now if Leafy ranting on about her niceness wasn't already a huge issue, her equality strategy manages to piss off everyone else watching her do it.
Because now everyone is very very annoyed that Leafy took a shot at them. And they reflect it in their point subtractions.
"Everyone annoys me equally, including Leafy, 25 points off of her"
"I want to subtract 56 points from Leafy for even thinking about subtracting my score"
"I'll Take away 30 points from Leafy for subtracting my score"
This results in her losing a total of 121 points. It is so bad she becomes the first contestant to have negative points.
The ultimate failure
So Leafy, in an attempt to make herself look good, managed to piss off everyone else. That was some real forward thinking.
So after screwing herself and her team so many times. It's a miracle she even made it to the final 2.

But in the end, Leafy still managed to get a last laugh. In the taco contest, its up to Leafy to screw herself up again.
"Why are you making such a big taco?"
"So I can lend some"
Did you learn nothing form last time?
"I'm done"
Oh okay, so her solution to the next problem now is to go first. So now instead of getting a lower score for being unoriginal. She can skate by with a higher score.
Okay, so you still failed at making food
But at least you got to screw up Pen's game
And that's the real beauty of it. Pen came crawling back trying to get the same good deal. Instead he was shafted with crippling debt, a low score, and an elimination.
So I hope you learned something today; don't ever buy stuff from Leafy.
