It is our mission to take ideas, no matter how outlandish, and bring them to life with respect and kindness to character, creator, and audience.
Thereby using our imagination to create new worlds one film (or stream) at a time.
My name is Shuffle, and this is my story.
Growing up, I had an overactive imagination that would make me very animated. Combine that with a massive love of books and you've got one hell of a storm. Reading opened my eyes to the possibility of whole words existing only on paper, and that excited me. So I gave writing a try, and was hooked!
At first, my stories were a bit too outlandish for other to understand, so I kept them private in my own journals to avoid unwanted remarks. (I still do this...)
It was around 6th grade that I realized that an active imagination was an enviable attribute (a.k.a I was bullied for it... A lot). I would make new rules to existing games to spice things up a bit when all of us kids got bored. Sometimes it worked, other times it would flop hard and devolve/evolve into a new game entirely. I had hope in my mind that maybe, just maybe, the source of so much chaos and fun in my life would be my life goal.
Going into middle school I thought more about what kind of world I was growing into. YouTube was on its rise and I was inspired by many creators at the time. (Too many to list.) So, I started my journey into content creation with a group of friends and that's where it clicked. I knew I wanted to make content and use this platform.
Thus I met the first obstacle to me goal: Making content can be VERY expensive.
At the time , my family was not in a state where asking for a camera or a computer was feasible, in fact it was near impossible. So, up until the end of middle school I would go to my friend's houses and borrow their computers to fiddle with software to learn.
Unfortunately, middle school was quite the storm of good and bad, which resulted in the friend group dissolving; however, that group has had lasting effects on my thoughts toward content creation.
Without my friends in high school, I dedicated myself to my studies and my electives and forgot about wanting to be a content creator or a writer. I just wanted to get through school and get to college as soon as possible. I wanted to start my career and start saving for my future.
Then I met my life partner.
Meeting her reminded me of doing things that made me happy, not just dragging my brain through academic muck. So, with her help, I got back into my old hobbies. Fast forward to today, my hobbies have become passions of mine and I never want to let them go. If I'm lucky, maybe they'll somehow become my full-time job. (Doubtful...)
Fast forward through high school to my senior year. My dad and I at this point had been talking about making a channel, but his work schedule didn't give him the time to commit to making videos or playing games. In March of 2019, I made my Twitch account, but it wouldn't be until November of the same year that I would start my first stream ever. It was a flop of a stream certainly, with its crashes, wonky assets, and horrible internet, but I was happy and kept at it.
About a year later, the channel was thrown into a beam of spotlight that would catapult me to Twitch Affiliate. I had decided to do a 24-hour stream during my summer recess, and on that stream I went from 13 to 56 followers, making me eligible to become an affiliate on Twitch. Despite my brief success, I chose to focus on college, and after 2 years' worth of engineering courses, I was exhausted. I sat and asked myself if I was happy slaving away till 3 in the morning memorizing calculus.
The answer was an obvious "NO!"
So I derailed my whole schooling and change my major to the "I wanna make movies and content" degree. I bum-rushed that degree and got it done in a year. Funny how following your passions makes things easier... Sometimes.
Though I'm sure you're probably wondering how Shuffle Play Productions came to be.
The plain truth,
I was embarrassed by my username, Crinklybunion49, and wanted to look more professional to people. On top of it all, many of my friends and family had mentioned that my name was a bit... much. So I changed my name to Shuffle Play Productions, and it stuck HARD. Many people preferred the new name, and I noticed an increase of new people rolling into stream.
Then, in early 2023, I started thinking about branching my content out into different types than streaming and even different platforms other than Twitch which led me to realize that I had the perfect name for my own production house!
THUS
Shuffle Play Productions was formed!
HOWEVER,
There was a lot of confusion born from the production house and my channel name being the same, and many issues arose as a result.
So, like before, I was back to the drawing board with few ideas about how to continue.
It took a dream of a smithy with sapphire and scarlet embers and flames that would draw me toward the final name that we hold to this day:
The Forge
Where bonds are made within the halls of where we refine our craft with the support of our companions.
How It's Going... (Quarterly Updates)
Q1 & Q2 2023:
Project Codename: Espionage
Efforts to develop a "Choose Your Own Adventure" idea from 2019 have continued, and it is going quite well. However, some time will be required to finish and polish.
Project Codename: Paths
A newer development. A novel series falling under a genre similar to Codename Espionage.
It is still in early development at this time, and no details or concepts will be revealed at this time; however, 4-5 titles are currently projected.
Project: Team GCPZ
Development of a streaming/content creation team has begun early stages.
Q3 & Q4 2023:
Project Codename: Espionage
No progress has been made. However, there has been some minor "thought throwing" and note-taking for random little details.
Project Codename: Path
Paths has had some minor updates, but nothing of note. The main story board has been expanded upon and there are new characters, but there is currently no progression on plot development.
Project: Team GCPZ
Further progress has been made to establish the base of a framework and early recruiting for testing viability should be available late Q2 of 2024.
Current progress is solely focused in content trend research to establish a stable marketing point to enable stable operation post-launch.
Member count: 2 (EOQ4)
PROJECT CODENAME: ESPIONAGE
Espionage has been merged with Project Codename: Paths.
After considering the multitude of similarities, it was deemed appropriate to merge the two worlds into one.
PROJECT CODENAME: PATHS
Q1
After making massive progress in terms of character development and framework of the story, Paths will be dropping its development name in favor of an OFFICIAL series name sometime this holiday season..
Writing and storyboarding are still in a slow development phase.
Currently operating on the ideal release date of late 2027
Q2
However, due to some realistic limitations focus has shifted to the main 2 books in the series.
Storyboarding for the other 4 (Yes 4) is still in early development.
Project: Team GCPZ
Q1
Progression has continued healthily!
An I.T. consultant has been hired on to assist with development (Is also an additional member).
Given the introduction of paid roles, focuses will be shifted to begin developing Human Resources to facilitate protections for all parties involved.
Q2
Delays in development have occurred in light of differing opinions of founding members in regards to the details of the proposed Code of Conduct.
In addition, further delays are expected in leu of an investigation in regard to the unsavory conduct of a member.
Member Count: 6 (EOQ2) [2 members pending]
Project Codename: Paths
Q3
Due to Conflicts of scheduling caused by developing Team GCPZ, investment research, and work (outside of content creation) no progress has been made.
Q4
Due to continuing delays caused by medical and financial hardship and refocusing efforts to develop Team LINK, Paths has been placed on temporary hiatus.
Project: Team GCPZ
Q3
Much progress has been made in the Human Resources sector and drafts of contracts for role expectations and compensation (if applicable) have been developed.
Member morale is at an all time high despite internal tensions from previous events.
Based on current progress, a soft launch of Q4 2024 is viable. Followed by a full debut launch in Q2 of 2025 (Assuming no further delays.)
Q4
Team GCPZ soft launch was a success and interest was high among other streamers at TwitchCon 2024.
Delays have occurred in light of issues with current and future funding.
Further delays have occurred after a founding member stepped down from their administrative role in light of allegations of mismanagement brought forward by the other founder.
All administrative power has been deferred to the Co-founder (and primary investor) as Management Interim, pending a time of development in acknowledgement of the allegations.
Management interim (M.I.) expressed a strong desire to disband Team GCPZ, unless prior management forwent the requested development period and returned and resumed duties immediately.
Upon prior management's (P.M.) return, at the request of concerned members, negotiations between the two founding parties began with the topic of considering the future development or dissolution of Team GCPZ.
Due to a fundamental difference on opinions regarding conduct and policy:
(M.I.) Allowance of extreme language and behavior and portraying and supporting of the abuse of schedule I substances
vs.
(P.M.) Zero tolerance for the support or portrayal of slurs and/or substance abuse
This disagreement as well as inappropriate and belligerent conduct by management interim during negotiations led to the decision that
Team GCPZ was to be disbanded and the group dissolved.
Project: Team L.I.N.K.
Q4
In light of the disbandment of Team GCPZ, solo development has begun on a new Content Team Team LINK
As all framework of GCPZ was developed privately, reuse of previous key items is possible.
Member Count: 3(EOQ4) [2 Pending]
Project Codename: Paths
Due to ongoing personal conflicts this project has been placed on indefinite hiatus.
Project: Team L.I.N.K.
Q1
After an initial period of discussion with the remaining members, it was decided that development would continue with a new focus on utilizing the team as a mentorship and support platform. After the collapse of the Team GCPZ, surrounding the inappropriate behavior of the co-founder, Team LINK has chosen to develop a platform that stands as the antithesis to the corrupt morals and values that almost destroyed it's foundation.
Q2
Progress is slow. Trend research indicates that audiences are shifting their attentions to newer trends faster than before. This means that consistancy and adapatability are now key to keep up with with active interest. At present, the "market" seems to follow the whims of larger streamers and new releases with a very quick fall off soon after release.
