Hardwood flooring has been a part of our family for two generations. Our craft began in 1963 when Norwood Rochelle, Phil's father, started his flooring business. At the age of 10 years old, Phil helped alongside his father, learning the trade the traditional way- through hands-on experience, patience, and pride in a job done right.
After years of mastering the work and building his own reputation, Phil founded The Floor Man in 1994 to provide for his family and proudly continue our family legacy.
Today, The Floor Man works commercially and residentially and specializes exclusively in sanding, refinishing, staining, installing, and repairing hardwood floors. We work in the surrouding counties of Onslow and are known for:
Punctuality and reliability
Honest Communication
Clean and respectful workmanship
A sharp eye for detail and long-lasting results
Bring your hardwood floors back to life with a complete sand and refinish. We remove the old finish, even out wear, and prepare the wood for a fresh, durable new coat.
Perfect for floors that are scratched, dull, worn down, or uneven.
Choose from a wide range of stain colors to match your home's style. Whether you want light, natural tones or deep, rich colors, we expertly apply stain for a smooth, even finish that transforms your floors.
From gaps, pet stains, water damage, and heavy wear- We restore your hardwood floors with precision and care. Instead of replacing your floors, we restore and revive what is already there to make it look new again.
Great for floors that are still in good shape but look dull. We lightly buff the surface and apply a fresh coat of polyurethane to protect and shine your floors.
We install hardwood floors with accuracy and care. We make sure your floors are level, secure, and aligned beautifully from start to finish.
After your floors are repaired, it is important that proper care takes place to keep them looking their best! Regular upkeep will maintain the beauty and lifespan of your floors.
Sweep/vacuum the floors at least once a week
Clean any spills as soon they happen
Keep mats/rugs at exterior doors to keep dirt from tracking
Place protective pads underneath furniture to avoid scratching
