The farm life

Christine and Christian will have the pleasure of planning your welcome and watch over your well-being for the duration of your stay.

We occupy this rural space made up of 4 main buildings and a large shed spread around a vast enclosed land amounting to over an hectare. It is bordered by a small valley crossed by a winding stream. We undertook to give a new life to this ancestral farm already 12 years ago. We had first to live in it, but also to give it back a soul, tainted by our own interests, without denying its traditional "bigouden" peasant origins. We knew the path would be long but we also knew it had to be that way. Everyday, we had to bring a new stone to the building, made of granit or forged by dreams, passion, hope and love.

During your stay, we offer you, if you so wish, to share and live in your own way a bit of this story ... We would be delighted to know that a part of Kerhors is kept alive by your memory.

You will see the old press with its juge screw, installed in the shed. In order to produce cider, apples, knowledge and barrels are also needed. Since three years, there is an orchard in which we planted ten trees of five local species. Harvests have been good and apples can be gathered on the ground in October. The empty barrels are there waiting and, as for knowledge, Yves (from a neighboring farm) has already shared his mastery of crushing and pressing last year.

Your pets are welcome, they will be acquainted to Varech, our loyal golden retriever, and the house cats.

At the far end of the shed is the ponys' box, named Reinette and Tokai. There is always much to do with those two, they love to be stroked, brushed or combed. Luckily, the village's kids come and spend hours spoiling them.

Then, there is the henhouse, located in the old cabin by the garden. Four hens, each of a different colour, share the same rooster, turn by turn, to lay eggs and he comes back to his ladies every night. We must never forget to lock the henhouse at dusk because the fox come every time the doors remains open.

We have set up a kitchen and a dining room for the residents of the guest rooms in one of the buildings, it is sometimes nice to be quiet at the farm and prepare meals.

Every season changes the colours of the surroundings. First come the Christmas roses, the daphne with its exquisite fragrance, the camelias; then the daffodils and tulips followed by irises and lilies of the valley in April. After will come hydrangias and rhododendrons, delicate Agapanthus, perfumed Jasmin, lavander and many others ... I have counted more than a hundred up to now.
