Timeline of Elwood Schools

• 1869 - the First school in Elwood: One Room Wooden Structure is built and opened

• 1904-1915 - the Little Red Schoolhouse was built and opened

• 1955 - Cuba Hill School is opened

  • Renamed in honor of James H. Boyd in 1982

• 1957 - Manor Plains Road School is opened (Now closed and sold to BOCES)

• 1962 - John H. Glenn High School opened

• 1966 - Harley Avenue Elementary opened

• 1968 - Elwood Middle School opened
