Our History

The Denton

Cottage 1 was the first building on this historic property. In the 1940s this 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage was built so the owner could court his love. After a short while the main estate was built to house the happy couple and grow a family as well as a legacy of Tennessee walking horses. 

The first wedding was held in the eary 1950's with the owner's niece. This would be the first of many at this stately property. The Denton has only had a couple caretakers but celebrations have been abundant. The kitchen and primary bedroom renovations were completed more recently with the last owner opening up both spaces and including a copper sink in the kitchen to compliment the copper tub in the primary suite. Recent renovations have included more energy efficient windows, a new roof and paint (inside as well as outside). 

For the past several years The Denton has been used as a wedding and event space. We have been blessed to host weddings of up to 250 people, birthday parties, baby showers, family reunions, and holiday gatherings. Sharing this landmark property with the community was the goal and we are so proud to have made the property such a success.
