Get to know the Dent Family and some history of our farm.
The farm was originally purchased in 1967 by Vernell and Adella Bergey (Rod’s step-father and mother). Rod and Nancy married in 1971 (54 years ago, wow!) and Rod continued to work on the farm with his parents. In 1978, the Dent’s moved to the farm and purchased it from his parents. They raised their two daughters, Nicole and Krista, there all while both working outside the farm- Mr. Dent drove a school bus for Chippewa Hills and Nancy worked as an x-ray technician.
Today, the Dent’s are retired from farming, almost! They continue to do some hay and Rod works for a local farmer, getting in as much tractor time as he possibly can. Their daughter Nicole is married to Jamie Bailey and they have 2 kids-Lilly and Alton. Their daughter Krista is married to Joe Claybaugh and they have 3 kids-Tyler, Avery and Ian.
The Dent Family Christmas Farm was just created in 2012 as a way to let people know they could get a closer look at our light display after we had mentions in the local paper and many neighbors knew about us. We never imagined it would become such a popular Christmas attraction. We are truly humbled and blessed to see families making memories on our farm. Thank you for visiting! ❤️
