We do!
Using a mix of One Health practices and disinfecting protocols taken from our time working at the humane society we strive to ensure a clean environment without the feeling of cold sterility like a kennel, vet, or shelter.

Our personal home is used for boarding and as such we can't guarantee full disinfection of things like fabrics, but we always clean, multiple times in fact. 

Taken from the shelters infectious disease protocol, we clean 2-3 times just in preparation of each client on top of regular house cleanings. 

Floors are wet mopped
Pet gates are wiped down 
Pet bed (not brought by owners) covers, blankets, pillows, soft toys, and even couch and chair cushion covers are all machine washed. Anything not able to go into the washing machine is vacuumed and spot cleaned with a Bissel carpet cleaner using a pet cleaning agent.
Hard toys  like puzzles & Kong's are soaked and then washed diligently by hand.
Damaged toys posing a risk are disposed of.
Water is changed twice daily.
All bowls are washed regularly and any provided bowls are additionally washed before being sent home.

While we are kennel free, for any pet needing and using one of our crates as part of their routine, the 2-3 cleanings applies directly to the crate as well.
The same goes for small mammals using our provided Critter Nation and any of our small animal supplies.

Yes!

Depending on the concern and the intensity we are able to navigate many types of behaviours that may disqualify your pet from other providers and kennels. Having a bite history is not an immediate disqualification in our books depending on details of the incident. Our main condition is that all behaviours be disclosed to us and discussed before hand. Any undisclosed behaviours that put myself, others, or your pet at extreme risk will be grounds for immediate expulsion from our services requiring you or your emergency contact to collect your pet. Excessive property destruction will also not be tolerated.

Please note that we can only accommodate cases of mild and manageable separation anxiety at this time as we are a one man show. 

Yes!

We have experience with having to medicate animals including manual pilling, liquid oral medications, sub-Q injections and fluids, administering parasite preventatives, and ear infection treatments, and eye drops. 

We are also Canine First Aid & CPR certified with a Pet First Aid Kit on premises. 

While we can cut nails on most animals we are not a trained grooming professional.  If your pet needs their nails cut during their stay with us and we are unable to complete that task due to behaviour we may require the assistance of a local mobile nail trimmer in which you would be responsible for the cost of that service provider. If your pet requires extensive grooming needs we suggest having that done before their stay with us. Alternatively, if you book an appointment at your groomer for your pet during their stay with us, we may transport them to and from that appointment for an additional fee. 

If your dog gets dirty during enrichment, play, or on a walk we will do our best to wash them ourselves with pet wipes or water and a gentle dog shampoo we have on hand, or at a PetValue wash station (the PetValue is approx $12 and will be added to your bill).

We are capable of basic coat brushing needs and regular ear cleaning maintenance (Preventative wise. Please disclose and discuss if you pet requires treatment rather than just cleaning as part of their medication needs), and teeth brushing. While we have various coat brushes we do request you bring your own supplies for ears and teeth.

If your pet needs anal gland expressions they will have to see a vet or a groomer who does them.

Walks that take place outside of usual walking routes! This feature can be good for dogs with reactivity where just walking down the street may be a struggle or for dogs that need a bit more of a hike. This means a change of location to trails or other out of the box locations that may require taking your pet for a car ride to get to, but also means so many new sights, sounds, and smells to keep your pup having a blast!

Nope!

All our walks take place on leash. Either what you provide or we bring! No flexi/retractable leashes though. We bring a standard 6ft nylon leash and/or 12-24ft longlines. Pets are required to have properly fitted gear (collars or harnesses) that can't be easily slipped out of. We can offer the use of a couple different harnesses and/or a martingale collar for med-large breed dogs when they stay with us too!

Absolutely NOT!

Your pet has the option to stroll with their housemate or partner up with our canine staff member Jack, but we will never walk your dog with other strange dogs from other households. It's not that we can't, its that we choose not to because of the safety issues, pet discomfort and stress levels, and the legalities behind pack walks.

Did you know that pet professionals can face lawsuits if it is determined they had more dogs than their ability to control on a walk together and something happens such as bites, escapes, injuries, fights, property damage?

Our extensive experience and professional history means that size and breed do not impact our ability to provide this service and our services can be adjusted to fit the needs of your pet based on fitness level and health.

We have a background with defensive leash handling and leash walking manners in general and are willing to put in the effort to making walks more pleasant for everyone.
