Premise:
Within the heart of a faraway kingdom filled with the most advanced magicks on the continent lies "The Corded Castello", a beautiful castle built on the back of magick research from the centuries before. The whole of the city uses magic to power everything, from inter-dimensional tech, to their water, to their power. Yet, in the past few years, something in the heart of the Corded Castello has been calling to the hearts, souls, and minds of people in this kingdom, this dimension, and the next, eagerly spitting out those who respond to the call in a heap at the palace door. It's become obscene, a plague upon the mind of the people who live in the castle and beyond.
The Queen offers a reward - magic, monetary, or whatever your heart desires- to those who are willing to trove deep into her city to solve the problem. So, dear traveler- how will your heart and mind resonate with the Corded Castello?
Format & Rules:

N.B. Below we picked out what seemed to be the most common mediums. If you're interested in a different medium (i.e. poetry, stand-alone illustration, visual novel, etc.), please reach out to icecube6432 on Discord!
1v1 matchups, non-elimination, opt-in each round!
Participants are welcome to join throughout the entirety of the OCT
SCORE BASED TOURNAMENT! - 3 judges, point based rubric below (36 point total) - the average points of all rounds is your final score.
1 week per round, 4 rounds. Maximum medium requirements below!
No-Show Policy - If you fail to submit twice after saying that you'll be participating in a round, you will no longer be considered for matchups. - We'd rather you take a look at your own schedule and decide BEFORE that you won't be able to submit anything, or submit a draft/sketch/mockup instead of nothing at all. We encourage being able to assess your own time, and making sure everyone gets something cool about their characters at the end of the day.

Doctor Maysu Wanakasin
The reclusive advisor, Dr. Wanakasin, is a disconcerting fellow. The rare moments they can be spotted outside the labs most people keep a distance from him, disturbed by the modifications they've done to themselves, the way she moves like a jittering mechanical puppet, or talks like nothing has any weight or meaning beyond his own curiosity. Not that he minds very much but he insists that if they bothered to actually talk to her they'll see she's actually quite nice and just wants the best for the kingdom. And if she can improve themselves along the way without hurting anyone then why not?
He was in the middle of working on a selective, animalistic, partial, transmutation project when the Queen alerted them to the trouble with the Corded Castello. Now she's here help you get to the bottom of this anomaly, or at the very least see how it might react...
