Creator: les13ia
Name:
Haith
Species:
Great Horned Owl Owlin
Gender and Pronouns:
He/Him
Age (In terms of species):
20 (but he thinks hes 4)
Height:
6'
Personality:
VERY contemplative. Very untrusting. Used to be a big talker, but then stopped for a while because there was literally nobody around, so he’s in the process of regaining his social skills. He is also very curious, because while he is suspicious of basically everything, he also has a deep need to understand it! He is a pacifist :)
Strengths & Abilities:
Haith is an Owlin, which are these dnd things that are basically bird people. This allows him to fly very stealthily (like owls do).
He knows how to use a bow! In addition, he also knows some magic, which he uses to enhance his arrows.
He is incredibly quiet overall, since his main thing was being a hunter.
He knows how to chop wood. Stellar stuff.
He can set traps for small animals and the like, which will surely come in handy.
Weaknesses & Flaws:
He is incredibly distrustful. He’ll act quick in actual dangerous scenarios, but he has really thick emotional barriers up all around him.
He’s fairly fragile, because he has brittle hollow bones.
He has pretty much no concept of the world. What little he does know he’s always second guessing, and even that’s mixed in with some unconscious assumptions that are simply incorrect.
History & Summary:
Haith was kidnapped and mindwiped as a teenager (classic tragic backstory beginning). He woke up in a small hunter’s lodge that served a monastery, and was told by the three other owlins around him that he, like them, was a being created to sustain and preserve a monastery of psychic monks. Having literally 0 history, Haith believed them. He served the monks for 4 years, hunting and cooking.
One day, he walked into the monastery and found every single monk slumped over in sitting positions, with blood pooling at their heads. There were lots of scrolls strewn around, and not knowing what to do, he started reading them. In his reading, he discovered that the monks weren’t actually godly monks that were created to pray, but psychic warriors that were essentially fighting a centuries-long war that roped in a ton of different sects of monks. He also learned that there was a known practice from this monastery that involved kidnapping teenagers and telling them that they were made to serve those monks. After learning all of this, he fled. He didn’t have a direction in mind, so he just flew as far away as he could from the monks, avoiding civilization at all costs. He fled to the only thing he knew - the forests. After putting quite a bit of distance between himself and the monks, he settled down in an abandoned cabin he found in the middle of nowhere, and has survived there ever since.
Description & Visual Reference: (Can also use picrew to create a reference if you’d like)
Haith is an Owlin, a humanoid owl-person. Specifically, he mirrors the Great Horned Owl, which has grey/brown feathers and two distinctive horn-looking tufts on its head. He usually wears some sort of rough cloth, with a leather harness and his hunting bow, which is a pretty weapon with ochre wood.
Practical Details (i.e. quirks, ways of speaking, etc.)
They always move incredibly quietly, out of habit! They also have a very strange accent, coming from a distant land, and an almost minimal way of speaking - leaving out words that they don’t think are necessary (Even though they sometimes are)
