He works far from home as a security guard to provide for his family. He works to model a strong work ethic and sacrifices time with his family for their comfort and opportunity.
My first job that I remember took me thousands of miles away from home to the Dubai International Airport, where I worked as a security guard. I travelled abroad for work early in my childhood just to fulfill my daughter’s wish. I was so busy with my own schedule that I forgot to give time to my daughter, and she forgets what the word “father” is exactly used for.
My schedule was so busy that I had to work all day and night just to give the best life to my daughter. My work was to check on anything that looked inappropriate, ensuring safety around the clock. I was so lucky to chat with my daughter for just a few minutes because the rest of the time, my mind was always on the next shift.
This separation was my sacrifice. Hard work and dedication shaped my family’s life, giving them the opportunity that they really deserved. As a father, I always tried my best to fulfill their needs. My work wasn’t just work for me, it was an act of love. My perspective on work became clear in my actions: “If you don’t work hard, you won’t succeed.” This experience showed my family the true meaning of dignity and commitment, and how being away from them is what success actually costs. My hard work tells them to never give up on their journey.
