Amir R. Allen is a HACC student majoring in sociology. His future goal is to publish works that make sociology more useful to the average person. He is a self-taught pianist and a Christian Apologist. His poem “Theme for English 101” was inspired by Langston Hughes. His work was previously featured in The Copper Quill’s Spring 2026 issue.

Kathryn Belanger is a liberal arts major at HACC, completing her courses virtually and set to graduate in May 2026. She is an aspiring novelist, currently working toward publishing her first full-length book. This is her first published piece, and she is excited to share her writing with a wider audience. 

Ryan Bischof is a student at the HACC York campus. 

Shaquatta Brooks is a business administration major at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. 

Joseph Clark is a HACC student currently enrolled in the liberal arts program. His future goal is to become a drug and alcohol counselor to help those struggling with addiction. His work was previously featured in The Copper Quill’s Spring 2026 issue.

Traeton Clark is a freshman at the HACC Gettysburg Campus and has lived his entire life in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is majoring in public communications, and his dream job is to become a sports broadcaster/journalist. 

Lauren R. Consentino has been drawing in all forms of media since she could hold a pencil, including watercolors, acrylics, digital, colored pencils, and pens. She loves the feeling of looking down at a completed piece of artwork, seeing the beauty, and feeling satisfied in her creations. She attends HACC full time and is majoring in science. Besides drawing in her free time, she loves helping people. She has worked as a nursing assistant in a hospital and as a patient care assistant in several nursing homes and is currently a direct-support professional working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities. She hopes to become an RN with a concentration in pediatrics soon. 

Madison Evers is a student at HACC studying biology to work toward her master’s degree. She is 18 years old and aspires to be a paleontologist in the near future. She has two jobs outside of school and manages her time with family, friends, and pets. 

Enola Frei is a nursing major at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. 

Miranda Germac is a current student at HACC York studying psychology. She plans to transfer to Millersville to continue her education and to pursue a doctorate in neuropsychology. Living in a small town with her mom and two cats, Miranda enjoys painting and cooking.

Devi Ghimire is a business administration student at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, primarily attending the Harrisburg Campus. She plans to transfer to Penn State Harrisburg to pursue a bachelor’s degree in information systems. Her interests lie at the intersection of technology, creativity, and human understanding, and she hopes to build a career developing thoughtful and human-centric technology solutions. Through photography and art, Devi enjoys capturing quiet moments in nature that encourage reflection and appreciation for the world around us. 

David R. Helm is majoring in police science and studies at the HACC York Campus. His career goals include becoming a servant of the community and serving his country as a law enforcment officer, then working towards being a member of a S.W.A.T. team. 

Tessa Henise is currently a student at the HACC York Campus. She is studying criminal justice in the hope of pursuing a career as a game warden. She is an avid outdoorsperson and enjoys spending time in nature with her friends and family. 

Ariana Hoff is a student at HACC’s York Campus. She is majoring in early childhood education with the goal of working with children in kindergarten through fourth grade. She plans to transfer to another college but has not decided where yet. Passionate about connecting with children, she is currently working as a babysitter and as a nanny. 

Emily Kelly is a digital art and technology major at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, where she is primarily an online student. She hopes to pursue a career in UI/UX design and digital media, blending her love of visual art with interactive technology. Her writing is inspired by her creative writing coursework at HACC, and she enjoys exploring themes of resilience, memory, and the inner lives of women. When she’s not studying or creating art, she loves spending time with her dogs, attending concerts, and painting. This is her first publication. 

Michael Lockhart is a HACC student at SCI Camp Hill majoring in liberal arts. His future goal is to become a business owner. His work was previously featured in The Copper Quill’s Spring 2026 issue, and he looks forward to publishing more. 

Maddie Marks is a senior at Susquehannock High School. She plans to pursue a doctoral degree in physical therapy and eventually travel around the world while still young. Outside of school, she works two jobs to keep busy and save up, and she does track and field. 

Danica Martin made the artwork “Untitled” that appears in this issue of The Copper Quill in honor of her grandmother, who recently passed away. Her hand-drawn piece depicts a sign her grandmother had in her kitchen. Her grandmother was famous within the family for her cooking. Everyone who knew her loved her cooking. The sign hung in her kitchen for as long as Danica can remember. 

Omar Jabbar Miller is a HACC student currently incarcerated at SCI Camp Hill Prison. He is majoring in liberal arts. “Dear Black Child…!” was his first piece to be published in The Copper Quill and was previously featured in TCQ’s Spring 2026 issue. Omar loves to write, and he is preparing himself to be a novelist and prominent script writer (movies, etc.).

Angel, N. is a general studies major at HACC. She has over five years of experience caring for seniors, veterans, and people with special needs. Her long‑term goals include growing in the healthcare field and eventually starting her own candy business. This is her first time being published, and she is excited to share her work with The Copper Quill community. 

Tim Ornelas is pursuing an associate degree in English at HACC while working full-time as a youth director at a local church. He loves walking through Lancaster City with his wife Natalie and his son Rowan, reading and writing poetry, and helping young people to discover their purpose and to experience community. His work has previously been published in The Clayjar Review. 

Brangely Pena is a first-year student at HACC on the York Campus studying practical nursing. She plans to transfer to Penn State to further her education in becoming a nurse. During her free time, Brangely enjoys baking and spending time with her siblings. 

Summer Rain is a general studies major at HACC taking fully remote courses. She collects hobbies, always searching for the perfect art form to convey her thoughts and vision, and fell in love with poetry. She lives in Lewisberry with her daughter and cat. 

Amr Abdur Rasheed is a first-generation Ethiopian-American who is currently enrolled at HACC through its liberal arts program held at SCI Camp Hill. Amr’s goals include earning his associate degree and continuing his educational journey to obtain a bachelor’s degree before being released from prison, where he has been incarcerated since the age of 16. His work was previously featured in The Copper Quill’s Spring 2026 issue.

Greeley Riordan is a general studies student at HACC attending online classes. Riordan enjoys reading and writing poetry and hopes to eventually study and work in linguistics. 

Joshua Rosario is a freshmen at HACC working towards his major in health profession. He likes philosophy and writing and hopes to transfer to York College when he has earned all the necessary credits at HACC. 

Bryan Reuther, a welding major, is in his first semester at the Midtown Campus. He grew up in Pennsylvania and resides in Montgomery, PA, Lycoming County. After graduating and getting a job in his field, Bryan hopes to use some of his welding skills to try his hand at the visual arts of sculpture. 

Ava Seifert is a student at the HACC York Campus and is looking to transfer to Kutztown University. She is studying and majoring in early education and is looking to become a kindergarten through fourth-grade teacher. Her first job was in Chili’s To-Go, and she still works there. 

Sejal Shah is a student at HACC York studying for her undergraduate degree and planning to become a nurse. She transferred from Arkansas State University to HACC this semester. She will be working as a pediatric nurse in the future. 

Samichya Sharma majors in allied health and plans to go into nursing. This is her first publication. 

Jay Soo-Han is a 19-year-old college student going for an art degree. He is a multi-racial person with a racial identity including the following heritages: African American, Caribbean American, Ashkenazi Jewish, and Chinese from Taiwan. 

Chelsea Statler is in her first year at HACC. She is currently pursuing a degree in English and has no prior publications. Upon graduation, she plans to transfer to Lebanon Valley College to pursue a double major in creative writing/English and communication. 

Alyssa Terry is a graphic and interactive design major at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, primarily attending at the Harrisburg Campus. As both a designer and a writer, she is drawn to storytelling that lives at the intersection of creativity and resilience. Her work explores how visual communication can transform experience into meaning, blending technical skill with personal depth. Alyssa aspires to build a career in graphic and interactive design, where she can create impactful digital experiences that inspire and empower others. While she has not yet been published in other publications, she views each piece she writes as part of a growing creative journey — one defined by voice, vision, and purpose. 

Nicole Trethewey is majoring in early childhood education at HACC’s Lancaster Campus. She loves encouraging and inspiring the children at the daycare where she works. Nicole describes herself as creative, artistic, positive, supportive, and loving. 

Heidi Waterstradt is a second-year psychology student at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. She has a background in many different areas of work, including home healthcare, food service, and physical labor; this background gives her a strong understanding of how the working world functions. Outside of school and work, she enjoys working with and riding horses, as well as teaching others to enjoy them. 

Georgianna Welty is an environmental science major at HACC York. She dreams of becoming a research scientist and publishing new theories involving environmental science. Georgianna enjoys literature, hiking, and playing with her cats, Azland and Twig. 

Lizzie Velazquez is a nursing major at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. Her goals include graduating and passing the NCLEX so she can pursue her dream of working in the PICU. She plans to continue her education and to earn her Nurse Practitioner license. 

Logan Zeigler is a student at HACC York studying welding. He plans to work and train at Voith Hydro. He lives in Dallastown with his parents. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games and having bonfires in his backyard with his friends and girlfriend.
