In 2019, Onyx Path launched a Kickstarter for their first “crossover” Chronicles of Darkness campaign book. I backed it - it sounded good. It was called the Contagion Chronicle.
For obvious reasons I didn’t want to play it when it came out in early 2020.
A few years later, I felt like I had the elbow room to return to the Contagion Chronicle and give it a go. Yet when I did, I found that in my circles it had a bit of a bad reputation. Just on reading it, I didn't see the problems; so I decided to combine it with one of my other ideas.
During the real-life pandemic I had discovered the fun of one-on-one games. It occurred to me that this might be a good opportunity for me to expand my one-on-one play into games that I hadn't tried in that format before. Could one-on-one play manage some of the system issues I had with Chronicles games?
So I went onto my Discord servers and I found some players. The result is this campaign.
Because this project will be available to the public (though more for the fun of our friends than for any wide distribution), we will be somewhat careful in our presentation of difficult topics. Although World of Darkness stuff can be edgy at times, and it does often contain topics of abuse, violence, sexual topics, psychological breakdowns, body horror, gore, blood, and so on, in this we lean more towards naming rather than describing elements of these topics. An R-rated movie is a good guideline here. If my descriptions get too gruesome, the players will speak up. But if you're just a visitor, you should be aware of that.
A podcast-formatted recording of our episodes, primarily for our own benefit, but you might like it too. The music is also here.
