We are excited to invite you to participate with us in our 'φuipu Recollections' art project.
Our aim is to promote wellbeing and connection at a time when we have all experienced collective trauma through the pandemic.
We are looking for people of all ages and from all walks of life to take part in our safe and supported space.
Throughout 2021 we are gathering materials to create a large scale textile and sound installation.

φuipu Knots are an ancient method of recording stories, consisting of coloured yarns knotted in different ways.
Our φuipu are used as a metaphor for life, where knots mark defining moments, and reflections which arise are recorded.
We'd love you to join us in exploring stories of your life with your own personal φuipu yarn and your voice, taking a step back and observing your life.
Bringing our stories together will help us to see that we are all part of something much larger than we tend to perceive day by day. Perhaps this larger landscape has a beauty and a pattern to it which we are not aware of when we are focussed on our individual 'knots'.
Your pack will be delivered by post and will include a stamped addressed envelope for the return of the materials.
Click here to receive your pack.
The knotted yarns we receive are prepared for installation through a process of natural dyeing and unravelling, before being added to our large scale spiral installation along with your voice recordings which will be integrated in a spoken word soundscape.
By signing up for a φuipu activity pack you will receive updates and a personal invitation to view the completed installation.
By returning your completed φuipu to us you agree for your work to be processed for inclusion in our installation.
All participants will be acknowledged in the collective work (unless they wish to remain anonymous).
Individual contributions will be protected for privacy.
