Here at Classical, we value the way we treat ourselves and the people around us. As a community, it’s important to keep in mind how exactly we can help each other, while also being mindful of our own spaces. What many people may not have known about are the 4C’s of Classical High School, which are here to guide us through that process of respectfulness, which consist of “Community of Learners”, “Culturally Sustaining”, “Critical Thinkers”, and “Conscientious Communicators”.
To be a part of a “Community of Learners”, one must learn how to respect, not only themself and others, but the school as well. Things like participating in activities, engaging in the community, and collaborating with others are all examples.
To be “Culturally Sustaining”, in easier terms, means to create a safe space, where everyone can feel comfortable and like they belong. Embracing our differences whilst also being aware of them is important for this value, especially with the diverse student body here at Classical!
“Critical Thinkers” always think ahead of the situation. What would happen if I did this instead of that? It’s better to not think impulsively. It also has to do with creating solutions and shaping your own paths, exploring what the world has to offer, especially when you eventually leave high school. All of these things are to prepare us for adulthood, which comes right around the corner the second graduation hits.
Last, but certainly not least, “Conscientious Communicators” is all about listening. It isn’t possible to collaborate or work with others in our community without hearing them out first. By making sure to listen and spreading your own positive impact across our school, we can make Classical a better place!
Through these core values, we can remind ourselves what it truly means to be a Classicalite, and to treat each other like family! Go Purple!
