Parul Biju '25 (she/her) - Writer / Editor

Parul Biju is currently a senior at Classical. She has been part of the Newspaper Club for four years as a writer, interviewer, and now editor. She is a Co-Captain for Science Olympiad, a math tutor, a drummer for the General Band and co-runs the Newspaper Club with Maya. In her free time Parul enjoys reading, math, and listening to music. Parul hopes to help publish a lot of articles this year!

Maya Hiwasaki-Ohira '26 (any) - Web & Graphic Designer

Maya is a junior at Classical and has been a part of the Newspaper Club since their freshmen year. In their free time, Maya likes reading, hiking and hanging out with their friends. They aspire to be a public health professional!

Yandry Griffin Diaz '25 (she/her) - Writer

Yandry Griffin Diaz is a senior at Classical High school, and a space science writer for the Purple Review. She is a member of the Science Olympiad club and started the Astronomy club at Classical. Yandry’s main interests are astrophysics and astrobiology. In her downtime, Yandry loves star gazing, engaging in outdoor activities and reading. She has been part of the newspaper since 2021.

Shaila Pena '26 (she/her) - Writer

Shaila Pena is a junior at Classical High School and is a writer for the school newspaper. She enjoys making and listening to music, reading, playing tennis, and writing. She aspires to become a professional writer in the future.

Sabrina Hernández '26 (she/her) - Writer / Graphic Designer

Sabrina Hernandez is a writer for the Classical High School Newspaper. She is in her junior year and enjoys books, baking, and singing. She was born in Venezuela and moved to the United States in 2023. Aside from the newspaper, she also does cheerleading and is part of the debate team at Classical. In the future, she aspires to become a lawyer and continue writing as a hobby. Her favorite book is “Hold Still” by Nina Lacour.

Sabine Goldsmith '27 (she/her) - Writer

Sabine Goldsmith is a sophomore at Classical High School and writes for the school newspaper. She enjoys reading romance novels, watching British historical dramas and eating sushi. 

Frankie R. Manna '28 (she/her) - Writer

Frankie R. Manna is a freshman at Classical High School and writer for the school newspaper. Aiming to become a journalist in the future, Frankie loves to write about anything and everything. Her hobbies, apart from writing, include reading and film, along with video editing.

Elisa (Gabby) Morales '27 (she/her) - Graphic Designer / Interviewer

Gabby Morales, a sophomore at Classical High School is a graphic designer and interviewer for the Classical newspaper. She is a part of the Newspaper Club and does track for classical high. Gabby enjoys dancing and singing, she is a very social person and will be there for you when needed. She was born in Guatemala and is fluent in Spanish, English and she is currently in her third year learning French. She looks forward to becoming a criminal investigator and is interested in taking a psychology class. Fun fact she is a spider-man addict!!

Oliver Giller '26 (he/him) - Writer

Oliver Giller is a junior at Classical High School. He is a member of the Math Team, the Science Olympiad Team, and the Cross Country Team. In his free time, he enjoys playing piano and listening to classical music.

Graham Welsh '26 (he/him) - Writer

Graham Welsh is currently a junior at Classical High School. He is joining the Newspaper Club as a writer this year. He is the founder and president of the History Club, a varsity debater, and a former student senator. In his free time Graham enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time with friends and his cat, Lucy, and dog, Ellie. He aspires to someday become a history professor.

Ashanti Ejims '28 (she/her) - Graphic Designer

Ashanti Ejims is a freshman at Classical High school and is a graphic designer for the school's newspaper. She enjoys designing, running, and painting. Ejims has played taekwondo for about 6 years at an outside training school. She also likes to watch psychological shows and movies. Ejims aspires to become a chemical engineer at an abroad university. 

Jenny Estrada '28 (he/she) - Photographer

Jenny Estrada is a Freshman at Classical High School. He’s a Photographer for the school newspaper. She enjoys spending her free time reading and watching T.V. shows. He bakes and sells cookies in his free time and is in the gardening and book club at Classical High. Jenny wants to major in psychology and do photography as her main hobby.

Alicia De La Cruz Rodriguez '28 (she/her) - Writer

Alicia is a freshman at Classical High School, she’s a writer for the school newspaper. She enjoys reading and researching about various topics. She aspires to be a psychiatrist and to be able to write about her research. She likes to go above and beyond.
