In November 2025, our founder felt lost in a new city. She couldn't seem to find a group of like-minded people who were passionate about equality and making a change. She put a post out on Facebook and received hundreds of responses. That's how The C.I.R.C.L.E. was born. While one person put the initial post out, it was the love and willingness of the community that has kept The C.I.R.C.L.E. going.
The C.I.R.C.L.E. exists to foster an inclusive community for individuals experiencing social, economic, cultural, and/or systemic marginalization. We support and strengthen local organizations, cultivate meaningful relationships, and engage in peaceful collective action to promote justice, equity, and shared humanity.
We envision a world where no one is without community, support, or dignity. Where collaboration, compassion, and peaceful advocacy create lasting change and empower every voice.
The C.I.R.C.L.E would not exist if it weren't for our wonderful leadership who volunteer their time for the group on a weekly basis. Get to know them better below. (Some Admin do not appear on this site due to safety reasons).
Kacie is 25, born and raised in Alaska, and a lover of travel. She got her bachelor's in English and Criminal Justice in Minnesota, worked with adult, male sex offenders for three years, studied abroad in Ireland, worked at Disney World, and ended up in Cedar City working with delinquent youth. She enjoys reading, writing, dancing, baking, spending time with friends, and making people laugh. In her free time, you can find her watching reality TV with her husband. She considers herself queer and hopes to be a part of making a change.
Skylar is 27 and originally from Orange County, CA. She got her Bachelor's in Nutrition with a minor in psychology from SUU. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, golfing, camping, hiking, and going to breweries. Skylar, in general, likes to stay busy, but she especially enjoys activities that include hanging out with her friends. She joined The C.I.R.C.L.E. to find a community of like-minded people in Cedar City.
Ashton is 37 and originally from Portland, OR (a place she misses dearly), and lived in Arizona for 5 years before escaping the heat and coming to Cedar City to be closer to family. She got her BA in Sociology-Cultural Anthropology many moons ago and, just like most of us, is now doing something unrelated to her degree. She considers herself a homebody who enjoys reading, walks with her dog, and working on her garden and other hobbies. She loves to travel and has taught English in both France and Taiwan. Ashton considers herself part of the queer community and has been involved with Pride of Southern Utah and Pride of Cedar City for the last two years. She is passionate about supporting local drag. Ashton hopes to be more involved with activism and fighting for equality with joining the C.I.R.C.L.E.
Riley is a creative force here in Southern Utah — a mom, massage therapist, and spark of color and hope in the community. She blends art, care, and activism into all she does. She has led peaceful gatherings to advocate for others’ rights. Riley is thrilled to join the C.I.R.C.L.E. team and hopes to help by championing liberty, building community, and fostering respect wherever she goes.
Steve is 42 years old and is originally from Michigan. He’s been calling Cedar City home since 2019. Steve has his associate's degree and is usually too busy to enjoy any hobbies. When he does find the time, he likes Golf, reading, board games, D&D, and video games. Steve is pretty well known in the Cedar City community and is active in working towards change. Steve joined the circle to continue to help defend the marginalized and oppressed - as he puts it: “Whatever it takes.” Steve is known as the Group Dad.
Gray is 45 and was born and raised in Vernal, Utah. Her father was a religious leader; thus, she grew up consistently serving and caring for people from all walks of life. She jokingly calls herself the funeral singer as she and her family frequently comforted people and their families as they crossed the veil.
Gray earned a B.A. in Biblical studies from Trinity Bible College in North Dakota. An A.A. in American Sign Language Interpreting from Salt Lake Community College and an M.A. in Communication from SUU. She moved to Cedar City in 2011 and fell in love the moment she clapped eyes on the beautiful Red Mountains.
Since graduating, she has delved deeper into community service and volunteering. Her hobbies include collecting hobbies. These are woven throughout her days of primary caregiving, spousing, household CEOing, community interpreting, boardmembering, chef-ing, reading, belly dancing, teaching, singing, arting, international game playing, creating, and learning to be civically engaged. She believes with all her heart in the mission and vision of the C.I.R.C.L.E. and in the redemption of community via receiving and giving care to and with each other.
