I started the chunky cowboy earlier this year in Febuary when I was truly at my lowest and struggling with heavy and severe anxiety, my goals this year are to continue practicing on my clay skills, learn more mediums to include more handmade items in my shop as well as build myself up to be the best version of myself I can be by practicing mindfulness and attending social events where I can open myself up.
How long have you been an artist?
I started drawing and animating when I was 8 on Flipnote Hatena on the DS. My dream at the time was to become an animator and work on films and tv shows. As time passed I saved up enough to buy my first drawing tablet at around 12 years old, I practiced digitally for years drawing fanart, OC's, small comics, and zines. In high school I participated in film classes and art classes, further expanding my artistic interests. I always knew I wanted to do something with my art when I got older but I never knew how to, until now of course! So to answer the question about 14 years.
What mediums do you have experience in?
Most of my experience goes into Graphic Design, Digital Art, Comic Creation Character Design, Polymer Clay Art, Air Dry Clay art, and Simple Jewelry Making
Though I also do have experience in Video Editing, Traditional Painting, Mural Painting, and Wire Wrapping. I plan to add more to this list as I learn more artistic mediums!
Why did you base your biz on your cat?
This is an easy but also complicated question. Since the start it's always been about my cat, I got him when I was 14, and growing up with him has been, I can't explain it better than say life-changing. I found a friend, my best friend who is always there when I really needed it. He was with me through thick and thin, I could even go as far to say that Spike is one of the main reasons I've made it to where I am today. He's inspired me to go bigger, get better, do things I want, and leave the rest behind. I owe it all to my cat and to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my cat! (i started crying typing this tbh)
So... cats.. you want more?
I want so many more! When I'm older and greyer, I'd like to open a cat sanctuary where elder cats can come live out their best years with me. It's still a ways away but for now, I'd like to continue raising money for local rescues and volunteering when I can. I used to volunteer a lot in 2018-2019 it was an amazing experience and am recognized by my family as the person to ask cat questions.
