You flip through your spellbook to find something to further distract the automatons, or protect you from their weapons, but being only a novice witch, scanning its pages is more an exercise in staring at blank parchment than one of consulting arcane knowledge. After pouring over its pages, you determine that the only spell you know which may help in these circumstances is Pass Without Trace, which you recently copied from a druidic associate.
As you read the spell more closely however, you discover a complication in its component costs. Although you manage to scrounge up some mistletoe ash in an obscure pocket of your adventuring pack, the spell requires a verbal component which will almost surely alert the automatons. You consider your other options.
Dungeons & Dragons Tip! Every spell in the game requires some combination of Verbal, Somatic, or Material Components. Before setting out on an adventure, make sure that you've acquired everything you might need to cast your spells!
