DOUBT & DISBELIEF

From Letter 1

On the power of belief versus doubt: "Whatever man profoundly BELIEVES himself to be, good or bad, that will he become."

On the creative power of belief: "Whatever man FEARS others will do to him, so will they do. Whatever man HOPES that others will do to him, he must first do to them, since he is then creating a 'consciousness pattern' which will return to bless him to the extent he has blest others."

On doubt blocking Divine assistance: "You can make choices, and as you make them, you can call upon the 'Father' to help you make the changes, and the help will surely be given you, — providing you do not doubt."

On asking with faith, not doubt: "I also taught the people to approach the 'Father' directly and pray in simple terms, asking for what they needed in life, and assured them that they would be heard and their prayers answered, providing they prayed with total faith — with no doubt in their minds."

From Letter 2

On faith making whole: "Do you remember that when I walked the earth in the persona of Jesus, I frequently told people: 'Your FAITH has made you whole.' 'Your FAITH will move mountains.'"

On belief determining life experience: "Simply stated, I have said: 'The kind of life you will experience begins in the mind.' The true reason for your downbeat lives, plagued by ill-health, poverty, enmity, ignorance, and unhappiness, is your strongly held fundamental belief system."

On belief in lack creating lack: "You also string together several 'bonding' and 'rejection' feelings: 'I hope my children go to sleep early so that I can relax. I hate it when they call for water and want me to read to them when I'm so tired, but I ought to be a good mother and spend a little time with them.' 'I hope' 'that I can' 'I ought' 'good mother' 'spend time' are all connected by the magnetic attraction-bonding. These are the things you 'want' for yourself. These thoughts also arise from fears — fears of being asked to do more than you feel you can do at this moment. Fears of failure as a mother."

On faith enabling healing: "I strongly realised and visualized the 'Father Creative Consciousness' was a dynamic operating Force which manifested itself through the visible world... I realised that the 'Creative Father Consciousness' would radiate all Its Nature through my consciousness to enter the consciousness of those who had asked for healing and sincerely believed they would receive it. I also knew that if they did not have 'faith and expectancy of healing', this type of negative consciousness would not be influenced by the inflow of the NATURE of 'Father Consciousness' and no healing would take place."

From Letter 3

On Christ being unable to help without receptivity: "I come close to people who call on me and work with them to relieve their distress, but their mindset and beliefs are so strongly imprinted in their brains, that my Truth cannot reach through and bring new knowledge to their minds. Many people have heard, albeit briefly and imperfectly, but have lacked the courage to accept new ideas and speak out."

On faith as conviction, not measurable size: "In the gospels, it has been stated I said that if a man had faith the size of a mustard seed he would be able to move mountains. This statement is a misinterpretation of what I truly said and it reveals how little my disciples and gospellers understood my teachings when we were on earth. If a person were to have 'faith' the size of a mustard seed — what does that mean? How can you measure faith in such a way? Faith is faith. It is a 'power of total conviction' in the mind, possessing the mind, and cannot be restricted in 'size'."

On belief as stronger than faith: "Faith, arising out of your need to believe in something, because such a belief will serve your purposes in some way, can be powerful and strong, but never could it be estimated in 'size'! Belief is even stronger. Belief is the offspring of hearsay and logic. Because you have heard something and been convinced that what you have heard or read is true, you develop a deep belief in what you have heard. You believe it to be true. You believe in a total, complete way which defies contradiction."

On the mustard seed parable correctly explained: "What I really said regarding faith, was this: 'You see this great big tree. It has grown out of the tiniest seed imaginable... It is a tiny entity of 'consciousness knowledge'. It is the 'consciousness knowledge' of what it will become... This self-knowledge embodied in the seed, is a conviction in 'consciousness'. All of life forms arise out of this one-pointed self-knowledge — a 'conviction in consciousness'... Therefore, if you could believe in what you ask for, as powerfully as does a mustard seed know its own identity, you would be able to do anything you wanted to do."

On conviction creating reality: "If you could carry within your mind, a seed – the perfected plan of your most heartfelt goals, and know beyond all doubt, that it can grow and come into perfect fruition, you would see this wonderful seed take on a life of its own which would presently manifest in your life."

From Letter 4

On disbelief blocking Christ's work: "Politicians could reach you — but I, the Christ, could not do so because of the hardness of your hearts and your refusal to concede that I, the living Christ, could return at this time through deprogrammed and dedicated minds to warn nations of what they were creating for themselves in the future."

From Letter 5

On doubt blocking spiritual progress: "There may be readers of this message who are beginning to feel they are being brought too rapidly into a study of spirit as the true reality of existence, and that as this happens, there is a feeling of insecurity, of nebulous and fragile substance in place of the stable comforts of 'matter'."

On the danger of doubting spiritual insights: "There are many who have experienced a little 'burst of insight', have briefly felt a touch of 'Divine Consciousness' and then, hardly daring to continue to believe in such a transcendent moment of awareness, have begun to question, doubt and finally dispel the little inflow of 'Divine Consciousness'. Beware you do not do this. Disbelief will set you back, enmesh you in the material plane of existence more than you will ever know."

On holding fast to insights despite doubt: "Whatever you are given and able to receive — hold fast to it and do not doubt. Doubt destroys steady progress because it creates its own 'consciousness forms' which will suppress and even eradicate the insight you had gained previously."

On choice between belief and doubt: "Therefore, your choice of thoughts — belief or disbelief, doubt or faith — construct or destroy your progress in your search for TRUTH. Any denial erases from your consciousness the progress which has been previously made."

On the power of thoughts increasing with spiritual progress: "Furthermore, the higher you ascend in spiritual truth, the more powerful do your thoughts become. Therefore, create and hold fast to your own spiritual momentum and allow no one to intrude and undermine that momentum."

From Letter 8

On doubt creating internal warfare: "DOUBT is a negative creative consciousness force directed against the very experience of 'DIVINE-LIFE' which lifted your spirit on high! You create within yourself a little war between your experience of Divine Consciousness and your human blindness. You will probably destroy the memory of that divine moment and erase all vestiges of spiritual upliftment and development it brought into your consciousness. This conflict will leave you feeling jaded and dis-spirited. And you will probably never realise that all alone and unassisted — you have wrought this negative transformation in yourself!"

On doubt hindering spiritual development: "People, on the spiritual path, frequently do this to themselves and hinder their spiritual development, never stopping to question what right they have to relapse in this self-indulgent exercise."

On belief/disbelief determining reality: "YOU who believe only in the material world, live entirely in the earthly, finite world. You live within a dimension of the manifestation of your beliefs."

On doubt during meditation: "Remember that nothing you can think, say, or do, can in any way reduce all that 'Father-Mother-Life-Consciousness' is. However, any disbelief will form a barrier between you and Father-Mother-Life."

On expecting changes versus doubting them: "If you do not feel any new lightness of spirit, despite your sincere expectations, do not deny changes or doubt the possibility of them."

On doubt during low periods: "If you will have the courage to persist and exercise self-discipline during the 'low' times as well as the good, you will find eventually, that the 'lows' will get less 'low' and any former depression will be lifted. Remember, that each time of 'prayerful consciousness' brings you closer to your goal, although you may remain completely unaware of this. Nonetheless, things are happening for your ultimate good — believe in them."

On dithering and losing heart: "How many lose heart when they have felt some change and then nothing for a little while? Bear in mind that I told you that you are subject to rhythms of 'high' and 'low'."

On faith being necessary for contact: "Faith must be strong at all times. Dithering about avails nothing. When I descend into your planes or dimensions of 'consciousness', I have seen seriously inclined seekers of Truth uplifted for a few hours and joyfully telling people of their experience, and then, a little while later, doubting what they were so certain they had received earlier. This slows down the process of spiritual development. These times of doubt should be strenuously resisted and overcome by meditation and prayer.

On doubt as undermining: "For what is DOUBT but an undermining of what you have known and believed in!"

On belief being essential to receiving: "Have you realised as you have read the first two Letters, that all I spoke to the people of Palestine was a direct outcome of my having perceived the 'reality of existence' in the desert — that nothing was solid?... I realised that the 'Creative Father Consciousness' would radiate all Its Nature through my consciousness to enter the consciousness of those who had asked for healing and sincerely believed they would receive it."

From Letter 9

On receptiveness versus doubt: "There will be many who will be unable to receive these Letters. Such people are not yet ready for them."

On belief/doubt in relation to divine help: "And if you cannot forgive easily because your ego will not let you — then bring your hurt and anger to Divine Consciousness (which I termed the 'Father' when in Palestine) and ask for Its inflow of Spiritual Directing Power to gently ease and remove the burden from your minds."

From Article 3: "Is there really a God?"

On doubt preventing Divine help: "No matter where you may be on earth, what trouble you may be in, what disgrace you are facing, what lack of money may be dogging you, right within you, around and above you, you have the SPIRITUAL MEANS on which to call with all your heart and mind — and the answer will surely come — IF YOU DO NOT DOUBT."

On disbelief as a chosen state: "Many people will disagree with this statement and scoff. But it is also true that they have lived in a state of disbelief."

From Article 4: "Chase the Bogeys"

On faith and conviction beyond all doubt: "When you WALK CHRIST'S WAY (MY WAY) you know very well, beyond all doubt, that your absolute faith and conviction in Divine Protection will bring you out of your troubles and will rescue you from possible loss or pain."

From Article 6: "You are NOT Alone"

On not losing heart: "Above all, I want you to understand you are not alone in your struggle to live comfortably and happily. You are not alone in your battle to change your habits of thoughts and feeling. The more you call upon for Divine Consciousness, even if it is only a momentary connection you set up, you are drawing into your consciousness new life and moments of Intelligence and Love which will inspire you to an even greater degree as you persevere and DO NOT LOSE HEART."

From Article 12: "Life More Abundant"

On never doubting in manifestation: "Put my words to the test. Make a clear form of your dearest wish in your mind. Take it to Divine Consciousness in silent meditation, ASK, give sincere thanks that you are receiving. The request is now filled with LIFE and must come into manifest being in exactly the same way as a seed grows when put in earth and watered. Wait, give constant thanks for receiving, never doubt, and you will receive a very clear answer."

On true belief being rare: "It is possible that having read this message, that 'all things beautiful and wholesome, including healing, are already yours', you wonder why it is that you still have your chronic illness or poverty despite your prayer and your belief. You seriously question how much you can really believe. I can only say that true belief is a relatively rare condition."

On the nature of true belief: "What is TRUE BELIEF? It is a moment of overwhelming transcendent conviction when you KNOW way beyond all negative and fearful disbelief, that LIFE IS more powerful, more transforming, more perfectly in control of atomic elements than any sickness can ever be."

On seeking and receiving belief: "Seek to BELIEVE, pray for BELIEF – and when you least expect it, it will be given you. Seek to be absolutely consistent in all your efforts to find and make contact with the Divine – and it will surely be given you."

From Article 13: "If you believe..."

On disbelief shutting out spiritual insight: "I am always here for you but whilst you dis-believe — you shut out all spiritual insight emanating from me."

On belief enabling answered prayer: "But you can only receive — to the extent — that you truly believe you are able to make true contact with me and the Infinite. But if you BELIEVE, You have but to ask – NEVER DOUBTING – and it will be done for you."

On inability to believe preventing Divine help: "If you have no belief at all, unfortunately, I cannot send my spiritual consciousness vibrations to enter your brain cells and switch your thoughts around or open your perceptions. To do this against your will or without your invitation, would leave you permanently brain damaged. So, until life experiences trim away your mental obstructions, you will remain unable to accept the great TRUTHS expressed in my Letters."

On resistance to giving meditation time due to disbelief: "So many millions love to pray, love to ask, and hope they will be heard. So many people resist giving time to meditation. Why? Because they do not truly believe they will be in contact with Divine Consciousness. If they believed, meditation would surely be their most fulfilling time of peace and joy during the day."

From 2007 Membership Message

On disbelief forming barriers: "Remember that nothing you can think, say, or do, can in any way reduce all that 'father-mother-life-consciousness' is. However, any disbelief will form a barrier between you and father-mother-life."

On ego as barrier to Super Consciousness: "But what humankind must fully realise is: that it is of such a high frequency of vibration, ......so spiritually refined in meaning.......that it cannot be drawn into your own human consciousness to make Itself known to you, until you begin to overcome your ego and ascend in spiritual perception of Truth. Your ego is the barrier to Super Consciousness."

On the error of believing ego can create perfection: "You cannot create the perfect life for yourselves — until you, yourself, are absolutely perfect within your mind, heart and actions and have worked through a kind of recompense for past hurts you have inflicted. And yet millions of your financial currency are being spent on acquiring the knowledge of how to potently form such consciousness forms as will over-ride all the energy blue-prints surrounding you and make them null and void. You are all going in the wrong direction."

On Kingdom membership requiring transcendent consciousness: "When you have embodied the transcendent glory of love and compassion within your consciousness, when your consciousness is at rest, peaceful, without the least stain of criticism and rejection of any kind of otherness, you will indeed become a member of the Kingdom of God."

On expectation and doubt during meditation: "If you do not feel any new lightness of spirit, despite your sincere expectations, do not deny changes or doubt the possibility of them. Remember your consciousness is electromagnetic, of the same substance as your physical body, and it is the foundation of all experiences in your life. Continue to expect — as you do so you are building up the power, the energy of your 'expectations — consciousness forms' which will draw to themselves the manifestation of all that you are expecting."

On losing heart during rhythmic lows: "How many of you presently go into meditation in this way and come out EXPECTING changes? How many lose heart when they have felt some change and then nothing for a little while? Bear in mind that I told you that you are subject to rhythms of 'high' and 'low'. When you are in your 'lows', the flow of Divine Life in your system has dropped and the frequencies of vibration of your consciousness also drop. Consequently, contact with 'Father-Mother-Life-Consciousness' during these times, at the beginning of your search, is almost impossible."

From "Christ Speaks ~ New Beginnings"

On fear and disbelief as separation: "I can tell you truly that the only thing which will separate you and me, will be your fears and thoughts and feelings of disbelief. The more that you draw close to the Source, to me, and existence, the more will you feel the changes taking place in you and your life and will rejoice in them."

On strongly held beliefs creating reality: "Your Life is fashioned by your deepest and most strongly held beliefs, and by those ideas and opinions in which you have the strongest faith."

On persevering through the transition from doubt: "There may be readers of this message who are beginning to feel they are being brought too rapidly into a study of spirit as the true reality of existence, and that as this happens, there is a feeling of insecurity, of nebulous and fragile substance in place of the stable comforts of 'matter'. Yes, for a while, you will feel you are hovering between two dimension of being but as you persevere, you will begin to discover the very real and amazing benefits of residing in spirit rather than in matter, You will find yourselves growing closer and closer to your Source until you do become aware of Its presence and Its enfolding love for you."

From 2010 Message

On rejection of Letters equating to rejection of Christ: "If you reject my Letters, you stand in the same place as did the Jewish Hierarchy who crucified me the last time I spoke to the people."
