The Centre School of Dance Policies and Procedures
Registration: A non-refundable annual membership fee of $85 per student (family max of $180) and first month's tuition are due at time of registration (non-refundable.)
Payment of Fees: Tuition must be paid by automatic bank account debit. Tuition will be debited from your bank account on the 15th of every month beginning in July and ending in April. We do not accept in person payment on a monthly basis. Payment must be made by pre-authorized automatic monthly payment. All Charges will appear on your bank statement as being from The Centre School of Dance. A "Season" is based on a 10 month class structure, including 38 weeks of in-studio classes and 2 weeks of "On Demand" classes online.
Costumes: Costume payments are divided into four installments drafted July 15, August 15, September 15, & October 15 and are non-refundable after November 1, regardless of withdrawal from class(es).
Withdrawal and Refunds: Enrollment constitutes a financial commitment for the full dance season (August-May). Enrichment division withdrawal deadline is November 1st. Graded division withdrawal deadline is September 30. Withdrawal before the deadline requires a 30-day notice. After the applicable deadline, families remain financially responsible for tuition through April 15, regardless of attendance. Withdrawal from classes does not cancel the financial commitment for the season. Remaining tuition will continue to be drafted monthly or may be paid in full at the time of withdrawal. Withdrawals must be done at the desk, and not with a teacher. To withdrawal, you must complete and sign the withdrawal form.
You must also complete a student-change form if you wish to change your enrollment in any way, such as dropping, adding, or switching classes.
Class Content: We are a Faith-Based school and therefore many of our classes begin with prayer, incorporate Christian music, and may include a small devotional. We believe that all things were created by God to be used for His glory and teach that dance can be used as a form of worship. We do not seek to teach specific denominational doctrine, but focus on character values, high morals, and loving the Lord and our neighbors wholeheartedly.
Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes: The Centre does not follow school cancellations. If our faculty can make it to the studio, we will make every attempt to still hold classes. All absences are excused on these days. We will post cancellation decisions via text, email and social media platforms. Canceled classes can be made up during other class times, or scheduled make up times. If we have to cancel a class due to low enrollment, you will be offered an alternative class. If inclement weather forces us to cancel an excessive number of classes, make up classes will be held the week of our Spring Break.
Substitutions - In the event that a teacher cannot attend class due to illness or other circumstances, The Centre reserves the rights to provide a substitute teacher virtually or in person, or digital class. In the event that The Centre is not able to provide classes in the studio, online or digital classes will be offered, no refunds will be issued.
Dress Code - A Student’s dress code greatly influences their approach to class work. Students must follow the dress code, please support this rule. Failure to wear required dress code could result in students being asked to sit out of class. Repeated, deliberate violation of dress code could result in termination of classes. For safety reasons dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry. Hair must be pulled back according to our Hair Code. All students MUST wear a cover-up when coming to and from the studio, dance skirts do not count as cover ups. Student should wear shoes, pants and a shirt or jacket over their dance wear when outside the studio. Dance shoes must not be worn outside!
Participation & Attendance: Accounts must remain current for dancers to participate in classes, rehearsals, performances, and outreach events. Accounts 30 days past due may result in suspension of all studio activities. Students with 6 or more absences after January 1 may not be eligible to perform in the concert unless approved by the studio director. You may make-up your missed class in another class time. Please contact the office to schedule a make-up class.
Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: Parents/guardians and adult students are responsible for staying informed about all studio activities, events, schedules, and important dates. Information and notices will be communicated through email and/or text, shared on social media platforms, and available on our website. Parents/guardians and adult students are expected to regularly review these communication channels to remain up to date. It is also the responsibility of the parent/guardian or adult student to notify the studio promptly of any changes to their email address, mailing address, or telephone number.
Arrival & Departure: Please enter through the main entrance at the front of the building. You can use the changing areas to change your child, and then take a seat and wait with your child until a teacher lines them up. Once your child is in class you are welcome to leave or remain in the waiting area and watch your child on the monitor. Your child will be escorted to the waiting area after class and will be released to parents or guardians by Centre staff.
Upper Division Students Ages 9 & Up can be dropped off. For safety and security purposes, parents please insure that your child proceeds into the dance studio at this time.
