The Cafe is a dedicated space in the center of Enosburg Falls providing a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youths in grades 6-12. The space will operate as an open hangout during open hours, but there will always be structured programming led by the director, employees, or volunteers, which youths will be encouraged to participate in. Some activities will always be aimed at teaching real-work, hands-on skills not found in traditional classrooms and always with a focus on fun.
The Cafe is open to all youth in grades 6-12. See Calendar on the "Events" page to find out when we are open.
Community Empowering Youth (CEY) is a new non-profit that is opening a youth center in Enosburg Falls. We are still a work-in-progress and love feedback. We hope youth in grades 6-12 stop by during our open hours to play a few games, and help us build the Cafe into a welcoming community space for young people. We have two bookshelves of board games, a sectional sofa, 65 inch TV (complete with Xbox and Nintendo Switch), and other activities. Some days we may even fire up the popcorn and/or snow cone machines. We also have stuff to bake cookies and other foods.
This Youth Center, affectionately named "The Cafe" is being developed in partnership with the Vermont Youth Project, the Village of Enosburg Falls, Community Empowering Youth, Cold Hollow Career Center, and several volunteers. So far, this project has been funded using grants from the United Way, Vermont Children's Trust Foundation, and Vermont Afterschool.
